Hello all,
I'm about to buy a Joye eVic and my first cartotank. I've noticed that the vivi nova that I've been using (3.5ml) just isn't lasting me long enough through out the day, and I hate having to keep rolling the tank to keep the wicks wet (also, I think it makes it look like I'm doing crack).

I'm looking for something that won't break my wallet (preferably under $30 but I can go higher if needed), won't spill if jostled (a lot), fit the XL Boge cartos, has a high ml size (4ml and higher please), and should be either polypro or pyrex. I'll probably be keeping this in my jeans pocket or a shirt pocket when it's not attached, and I can't have it spilling out if I move slightly or it accidentally falls from my shirt.

Please Help! I plan to order later today or Monday.8-o

Hi - I suggest checking out IBTanked and Valley View Vapes. Unfortunately, everything with liquid in it has the potential to leak, you can't really avoid it.

For out and about, I've had good luck with CE3 XL which is called a carto for some reason by a lot of vendors, when it's really a little bottom coil clearo (it holds about 1.5ml of juice). I carry a couple with me filled with different flavors. They are cheap (a 5-pack is about $9), so quality is hit/miss, but out of the 17 I've used: One failed epically after being filled a couple of times and two started to leak a little bit and I pitched them. I've been using the rest of the 14 for over a month.

Personally, I'll be ordering 3 of Valley View Vapes 6ml. polyprop sidewinders this coming week; and, a couple of his pyrex tanks next month. Ray seems to have the best prices around; and, everyone I've seem comment about him has had nothing but good things to say about him and his tanks. He also has larger tanks (7 and 8mL); but, I thought I'd try the 6's first; since, I don't have a mod.

Just don't do it. Any carto, clearo or tank can (and will) leak, eventually, especially when if falls out of your pocket. If you have to keep it your pocket, stick it in a small plastic baggie. Just trust me on this. :D

Welcome to ECF and happy vaping!

I have to disagree with you Katya. I've been using cartotanks almost exclusively for almost a year now, and not had any of them leak. This is from experience with about 20 cartotanks from several different manufacturers. I think I know a thing or two about cartotanks.

I frequently keep them in a sweatshirt lower pocket, coat pocket, or a front pants pocket while out-and-about. I've had both pyrex and polypro tanks fall from my lap getting out of a car onto the pavement and not break or leak.

I have had two pyrex tanks (I will not name that vendor here) roll from a locker room bench onto a tile floor and shatter. However, the pyrex tanks from two other vendors that I often recommend have suffered the same action and not received a crack or scratch.

I do not recommend getting any of the less expensive Smoktech tanks for under $20, as they are slippery on the cartomizer and could easily leak. But the more expensive and better quality cartotanks have better fitting o-rings and are not slippery at all.

Also not a fan of the cartotanks that use a rubber grommet in place of traditional metal or delrin endcaps to save production costs. (With the exception of the pyrex grommet tanks from High Desert)

I have not seen the need for the new "locking tanks". In fact the first versions of these tanks seem to have frequent flooding issues based on many complaints here in the tank sub-forum.

Having said that, it's just good practice to handle your PV loaded with a cartotank on top in the proper manner. Always handle the PV by its body, and not by the tank. That's just common sense.

I have found that empty pill bottles work great for carrying my tank around. It protects it and If it leaks its contained. You can get a kit from Ibtanked for 25 dollars and worth every penny. You get the tank, a carto and a filling tool.

And you get a thingy for carrying tanks too.

I'm a big IBTanked fan, very solid design

Another vote for the IBTanked line of cartotanks. This was my first set-up into the cartotank realm. The pyrex tube wall is nice and thick. Relatively easy to set up and use in minutes for a newb, such as myself. I am sure there are better tanks out in the market and i will be sure to try a few. However, for my money, IBTanked is my yard stick for all my future tank purchases. The fit and finish for the money is stellar.

Thank you everyone for the advice. :D

I ended up purchasing a 19mm XL Tube from IBTanked (Bold blue and silver swirl) since they are out of the 25mm ones right now, and a couple of 6ml Triple V's from Valley Vapes (1 premium with blue aluminium caps and 1 regular with black grommets) and extra colored o-rings and grommets to switch up the look when I want.

I'll let you know how they work out for me.

Niiiiice . . . Please, do not hesitate to ask any questions, once you receive your new tanks.

I was looking at the IBTanks today and wonder hows the painted finish hold up over time?

According to their website, they use "a heat cured glass paint that is very durable so you can be sure your artwork will serve you well for a long time and also stay looking good." Baditude's been using his for a long time without any wear.
