We bought a kit for a family member and I don't want her getting discouraged because the first vape tastes like crap because of primer. HOW do you get rid of it other then vaping through it? Is vaping through it, like pulling drags into your mouth only and exhaling quickly the best way to get rid of it in terms of what's best on the hardware? Also anyone got some basic How to Vape site for people? Not a big huge site with guides to every aspect, because I think that will only overwhelm her, and I won't be there to help her surf and answer questions, so we need just a very basic How To page to link her to and maybe a couple youtube URL's on the subject. We got her a Riva so something that covers the big/fat batt models would be ideal.

The best way, IMHO, to clear the primer is to actually blow the atty out until no more liquid comes thru. Put the open end to your mouth and blow into a tissue til you get nothing but air. Then drop 3-4 drops of liquid on the bridge. Vape some short puffs without inhaling, usually 4-5, and the atty should be ready.

You can also clean out the atty in an isopropyl (91%) alcohol bath, but that takes overnight for it to dry.

Mistress Nomad made some excellent videos for begginers. It is a sticky on the new members page. Should be very helpful for someone new to vaping.

Also, Don's 6-part videos (The Wonderful World of Vaping" in the ECF library.

I think I've tried every wacky method under the sun, but I finally just settled on filling the atty with water under the faucet like a little cup. Then I blow the water through from the mouth piece side so it squirts out the battery end. I do this 3 or 4 times then put the atty by a fan for a few hours to dry out.

Gotta remember different folks have different levels of sensitivity. I've tried the blow it out then drip and it doesn't work for me. I can still taste the primer.
I heat up a small amount of water in the microwave for 30-40 seconds then scoop the water up using the atty like a cup, let it drain out the bottom.
Do that several times, then blow it out and drip. That takes the taste out enough for me that I am happy.
also it seems some atty's have more primer than others.

You are quite right! There are many different ways to get primer out of the atomizers.
Blowing it out.
Rinsing it out, then blowing, drying.
Blowing and dripping pg or vg and rinsing, drying.
Rinsing with pure grain alcohol, followed with a warm water rinse and drying.
There are so many different options out there.
