What's the best way to test taste new liquids? PLUS other liquid / flavor questions....

Hello everyone!

I've been vaping for about 4 weeks now, mostly on prefilled cartomizers from liquidxpress. I have two bottles of liquid, one called Chocolate cream from Liberty-flights and a tobacco flavor from liquidxpress. I've been using these to refill my cartomizers (example: I have the flavor cool rush in a perfilled carto, and I've been dripping a few drops here and there of the chocolate cream, giving me a nice mint chocolate flavor)

I just place a order of samples from FreedomsmokesUSA and I can't wait until they get here, but I'm wondering what is the best way to test the flavors? I have some empty, never been used cartos but I'd hate to use them all up just to test out the flavors. Will "dripping" work? Any tips? I have 2 eGo's btw.

I read a bit about dripping, but I'm still kind of confused on how that works.

Also, I'm looking for a few flavors and was wondering if you all can help me.
I'm looking for a good vanilla, something that taste like a vanilla ice cream maybe, sweet but not sickly sweet and a bit creamy.
I'm also looking for a good ice tea flavor. I LOVE unsweetened Lipton ice tea, love the smell, so I'd love if I could find a unsweetened tea flavor to vape.
Chocolate.... I don't really care for the chocolate cream flavor I have, is there a good milk chocolate flavor out there?

I drip about 95% of the time and I DIY juice, so dripping is the only way I taste test new juice. Dripping is a lot easier than it sounds and a drip tip isn't required (but it does make things easier.) You can use an empty cart instead. When you drip you start out by adding three drops to the atty. Vape until the flavor changes and vapor production starts to drop off then add two more drops. If you want to change flavors you can either wait until the next time you need to add a couple of drops or you can blow out the atty and start with the three drops using the new flavor again.

You can't really sample flavors very well using carto's. Atty's are the way to go. For dripping on an atty just drip a few drops onto the bridge. Using a drip tip you just drip through the big hole in the end. If you don't have a drip tip you can take the filling out of a cartridge and use the empty cap as a mouthpiece.
As for flavors, the best vanilla I've had so far has been High Caliber Killa Vanilla which I got at litecigusa.net. Unfortunately they've been out of stock for a while and so does everyone else who carries this brand. My second favorite is VaporBomb's French Vanilla, I currently have a big bottle that's steeping. The other flavors you've listed aren't ones I've tried but I'm sure others will have their favorites.

The eGo starter kit came with two atomizers which were empty (no filling) but I haven't tried them yet, I'll have to test that out!
If it's as easy as it sounds I can see me dripping at home, but I really like the cartomizers for when I'm out and about.

I just ran into a new flavor I hadn't tried till today: dakang green tea - 24mg I don't know the pg/vg ratio, it isn't on the label and I got it in with some other juices I bought off the classifieds (a good way to try different flavors, at lower cost). For your unsweetened tea flavor I think you'd like this. Maybe you could find a US juice vendor who carries this flavor juice because I don't honestly know how to get dakang unless you buy directly from a chinese vendor. Very good taste though.

Thank you very much. I see many tea flavors, but they're all sweetened or have fruit flavors. Every time I make a batch of unsweetened lipton ice tea I can't help but wish I could vape the smell! lol

Cartridges (carts) hold polyfill (or an alternative) and are essentially your mouth pieces. You drip your juice on to the pollyfill and then attach your cartridge to your atomizer which is attached to your battery.

Cartomizers (cartos) are atomizers and cartridges combined into one unit for ease of use. They can come blank or pre-filled and both types can be refilled several times over before they start to taste "off" and should either be cleaned or thrown away. There are differing opinions on the usefulness of cleaning cartomizers to extend their service life. The tip of the cartomizer can be pried off (if it's a hard tip) or will easily pop off (if its a soft tip) leaving a nice opening to insert a drip tip. This is a personal preference. You can leave the hard/soft tips in place and put your lips directly on the cartomizer.

Do a youtube search for "cartomizer" and you will find several videos for filling and cleaning cartos. Also some reviews you might find useful.

I have another question

I have two eGo's (which came from a starter kit) and I also ordered a 510 Mega Battery and usb charger from MadVapes. I wanted a 510 battery that was on the slimmer side for throwing in my purse. I haven't gotten it yet, but was wondering if I made a good choice here. Am I right that the 510 I ordered can use the 510 catromizers? What about the atomizers from the eGo?

Yes you are correct, you van use it with the attys and cartos..But you cannot charge the 510 batt with the ego charger, it will kill it and could explode so u need to get a charger for that if u haven't thought of that yet.. Good batt for public but if your gonna be out a while you might want another one cuz that one lasts about 3 to 5 hours tops with light vaping moderate to heavy vaping 3 and a half to 4 tops hope this helped...

Cartridge is the plastic and stuffing piece of a 3-piece e-cig (i.e. battery + atomizer + cartridge aka cart)

Cartomizer is the threaded-end mouth part of a 2-piece e-cig and it is a cart w/ internal atomizer (i.e. it can burn out) (battery+cartomizer)

Cartomizers are a bit more complicated to fill but hold more juice.

And slim 510 battery can definitely use normal 510 atomizers+carts or normal cartomizers. I do not know if the Mega 510 battery should use LR (low resistance) atomizers or cartomizers but the Ego battery can (LR atomizers and cartomizers draw more power).

Talking about e-cigs makes me want to order juices.... BTW Velvet Vapors reopened yesterday. I love their Vanilla Almond Tobacco in their Velvet Blend - sweet and rich with a bit of TH. Also enjoy their Raspberry Gingerale (tingly TH). I visited there yesterday and bought another 5 samples to try. I also like FreedomSmokeUSA (usual discount freedomsmokeusa for 10%) and Backwoods Brew.

Somebody said they liked Velvet Vapors Organic French Vanilla and they also have a Velvet Vanilla. I definitely plan to try those because I love their Vanilla Almond Tobacco so much. And my everyday vanilla is Backwoods Brew Vanilla Bean but that isn't an ice-creamy vanilla - it's more of a vanilla bean or vanilla extract type flavor.

You can use those empty cart's in place of a drip tip until you get one. You just have to remove it to drip is all. Take cart off, drip, drip, drip, put cart back on and vape. When the flavor starts changing, repeat.

510 Attys are pretty great they just work right easy to clean and if you ever get into dripping and you have an atty to spare I would go on YouTube and search "remove my 510 bridge" and the flavor and vapor from a bridgeless atty is...... Well you get it.....

While reading all of the information gave me a decent understand of what was going on. Doctor Vapor's videos were amazing simple and easy to understand. Helped me at least get a functional understanding of the terms and general information about vaping.

I thought of another dripping question!

I tried dripping with some tobacco flavored juice I have and it worked well, but I wonder if it's not a good idea to use the same atty to test different liquids before cleaning?

I only have two atty's and I would love to test my new samples, but should I clean them before each flavor?

You can test a different flavor without having to clean out the atty first. You can either vape until the flavor that's in there is gone or you can just blow out the atty. Take it off, hold a tissue or paper towel to the threaded end and blow out of the open end until no more juice comes out. Put it back on, add your new flavor and vape away.

Some strong flavors like cinnamon and menthol might stick in the atty, so blowing it out might not work. You can try vaping those out by putting plain VG in the atty and vaping it out.
