Hey I'm from a bottom of the map town in Louisiana where ecigs are unheard of and I've been vaping for about a month. I was wondering what the best choice would be for a heavy vaper since I burn through two to three cartomizers a day. I am getting ready to purchase some clearomizers and some sort of tank system and was curious about the functionality of the tanks do they keep juice in them longer than a cartomizer or will they go for about ten puffs then taste dried out and plain? I love the flavor of my juice in the cartomizer but it turns to dry nastiness after about 30 min of vaping am I vaping to aggressive or what? I live too far away to want to bother with filler and what nOt so I thought a clearomizers just used wicks right? Anyways just tired of dry vapor and want some juicy goodness. Thanks

I've heard pretty mixed reviews about clearomizers- some people really like them and some complain of a burnt taste, difficulty filling them, and problems getting them to wick. Before you invest the money in clearos, there are some things you can do that will probably make your cartos last longer. It sounds like you aren't interested in filling them with liquid, but that's really the only way you'll keep them from burning up. It isn't hard and only takes a couple of minutes. Just make sure you have the cartos with the soft cap.

All you need to do is remove the white rubber mouth piece and drip a few drops in every now and then. I've found that the blank cartos that you fill yourself (also very easy to do) perform better and last longer than the pre-filled. You'll need to fill the clearomizers, anyway, so you might want to try it with your regular cartos before spending the money. Good luck! :)

What ecig do you have and are you refilling your cartomizers? I don't vape them until they singe. I vape them until the vapor is a bit light or a bit dry then add more juice.

I only use stuffing-type cartos so far like V4L for my KR8 and Boge for KR8 and 510.

Clearomizers - based on what others have said - look good, taste good (though sometimes not on the first fill?), crack very easily at the top (one company sells spare tube material), and a couple of people have had the bottom twist right out and dump the contents. Can be cleaned but requires much patience and dexterity to remove and especially replace the seals.

Tanks - there are various kinds. Ego tanks are used on Ego tank atomizers. 510 "tank carts" or "smart carts" are hollow carts to be used with a 510 atty. Joyetech cartos are reservoir type.

All reservoir types of cartos need to be filled with a syringe. Some want a blunt syringe, some want a sharp, some want a special flexible tip.

I'm vaping a magma right now and I like the compact size but it just seems like I'm steadily replacing cartos I'm not refilling them yet as I've only been vaping a month and didn't know that the carts would last only a little while. So if I just add a little juice here and there before it tastes like a welding shop it should stay good?

Booth - what is your ecig model? And what kind of tank? Ego tanks?

If you have an Ego or Riva or other Ego clone you should be able to use an Ego tank atty and tanks. The EGo tanks need an Ego tank atty which I think pierces the tank?

There are some other kinds of tanks but I don't know anything about them. Something called MAP tanks? I don't know what they are.

Love my clearomizers, but the standard size doesn't hold more juice than a regular cartomizer. You need to get the big XL ones for that. I like to change what I am vaping, so I like the little ones. There are gobs of videos on You Tube about how to optimize them. They are REALLY easy to take apart and clean or modify....just connect them securely to your battery and wiggle off the plastic. (if you are taking apart a just-used one and you have an auto battery, be sure to hold clearomizer end DOWN *g*)

I always take them apart before using, snip the wicks and reposition the silicone cup to give a little more room. One day, I kept getting a horrible burnt taste no matter how many I filled, and with what. Thought I was going nuts. Finally realized that I had thinned some juices down with vodka, and those were the ones that didn't agree with the clearo. Emptied them, cleaned the coils, and haven't had that problem since.

Aside from direct dripping, the clearomizer give the best flavor, vapor and throat hit I have experienced.

They do have a burnt taste if you dont do a quick mod that fixes it.

Explained here: YouTube - CE2 Clearomizer Cartomizer Tips - Gotvapes Fluxomizer

You just need to use a paper click to raise the rubber seal , on 2 sides, that sits around ceramic housing for the coil.

This will allow the wicking to work perfectly every time.

I too was initially disappointed by the burnt taste but saw this top by gotvapes and I have been vaping on the same clearomizer for the last week and half with out a single burt toot.

Oh you absolutely need to start filling your carto's! The ones you have emptied are still sitting there with perfectly good coils waiting for more juice. Not sure what kind you have, but the CE4 ones are refilled with syringe, and I believe you can refill most others with various techniques, I've never owned any, but from memory you can search youtube for "condom filling carto" (no, it doesn't actually involve a condom).

The Tank system (I use a Tornado Tank mainly, and also some Clearomisers).

The Tank is very to refill, and each atomiser lasts me approx 9-12 days vaping 4-6mls per day. That would be what something like 45-60 carto's (assuming .8ml/carto like the CE4 standard ones). You don't need many Tank Cartridges, they seem to last forever.

Thanks for the advice I definitely will be filling my cartos cause at the rate I'm going although much healthier than analogs I won't be saving very much with my current setup. And I'm kinda leaning toward a tank and clearomizers even if just to try it out and see what I like( which seems to be the theme to vaping). You guys rock.
