What's the deal with tanks/dual coils/clearomizers?

Since I solved my charger problem I feel I should also mention I also grabbed a 5 pack of tanks. I read about them briefly here and when I saw them I grabbed em...

Since the last time I really vaped on a daily basis, sometime around ohhhh November/December last year, apparently these tanks came out where you have a special atomizer and these clear tanks that you put a buncha juice into it and you can vape without it in some sort of a wicking mechanism ala regular cards with filler or cartomizers.

I personally only got what I thought was good flavor from cartomizers but I had always thought it was still kinda muted. I thought drip tips would be for me but now it seems I don't have to...

So yeah before I bust these open; whats the deal? Do they provide better flavor/vapor than a cartomizer? I also was reading dual coils are pretty nice as well as clearomizers but I feel like clearomizers are just a repackaged cartomizer you can see through...

Some people really like the tanks and others think they're nothing but trouble. The atties sometimes take a bit of work before the tanks work like they should.

I've been using LR cartos, single coil and dual coil 1.6Ω cartos from IkenVape and I really love them!

Clearomizers and any of the rest of the CE2 cartos never impressed me. In fact, I really hated them and gave all of my unused ones away. I wouldn't bother with them, but that's just my opinion.

For me, the tanks muted the flavor. I'm a carto cat so that's all I use for the exception of dripping to test new flavors.

As for clearomizers, nope. All the tubes broke and/or cracked on me. They are good while they last but you have to be careful on why types of juice you put in them.

What I feel in love with are Ikenvape.com's 801 Fusion cartomizers parked inside a vaporescence.com's phat 5.5ml liquinator. It's like getting fresh draw everytime. Cartomizer stays nice and wet.

13 of 13 dual coils worked perfect.
Requires strong PV due to higher current demand.
Very clean taste.
Dense vapor.
Medium draw.
Coils share work load so takes more abuse than some others.
Easy direct drip fill.
Requires longer draw.
Zero leaks if careful.
Can't dry burn.

3 of 5 CE2-X worked perfect out of box.
After some tuning all 5 work perfect.
Vapor production much more than dual coil following deep inhale.
Vapor does not feel as wet as DC.
Tubes crack so order spares.
Nice light draw.
Plastic taste if wick not intimate w/ coil.
Requires syringe to fill.
Quick draw.
Higher resistance available for weaker PV.
Zero leaks if careful.
Good for dry burn.
Can partially clean wick slag w/ needle.

Since you have the tanks give them a shot but I'd order some cartos just in case. Some like the tanks and some can never get them to work properly.

As far as cartos a safe bet is Boge or the Dual Cores if you have a battery than can handle DCs. They just work out of the box with no fuss. I prefer the CE2 Clearos but I mod the original tube with a syringe tube. They do take some work to get performing properly but after that they are my fav carto by far.

I've never been able to get anything to work for me with super high reliably and real solid consistency except the Boge cartos I use. The Ikenvape and SmokeTech cartos are also popular and I believe they're very similar. Tried the eGo tanks and the various CE2 cartos including the clearomizers, but they just didn't do it for me. I've never got along well with direct dripping either.

A lot of it is simply personal preference so you just have to try the different stuff out there and see what you like best. I havent yet found anything better than what I'm using, but I keep trying stuff when I feel compelled. Been eyeing the Bulli A2-T lately. That's probably next on the "try" list for me. Still have tons of cartos onhand so I'm not in any hurry to move on to anything else.

Ok so if I wanted to try the Dual Coils, and I do XD they sound the most appealing... What kinda PV would I need that is strong enough to handle them? I was looking to get a new one anyway since my eGo is now older and there's so many new things out there.

I've ordered from Liberty Flights before and I really liked their speed, customer service and prices on starter kits and I was eyeballing this: Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - MEGA T-Rex

Wanted to grab the 1100mAh set at the top of the list and just throw in some dual coils on the order...

But I'd love some recommedations. I like my eGo but I definitely want something new and I'm open to suggestions~

A 3.7v device capable of 3 amps handles 1.5 ohm dc easy.
2 amps capable 3.7 v PV as a minimum.

So both my 650mAh eGo will work with it as well as that T I linked?

I assume basically any larger PVs battery will be ok and generally the smaller 510 batteries would get fried?

Could anyone supply any links to help me out if maybe theres something better out there?
