Oh, and don't forget, it also means that the Chinese New Year holiday is only a month away. So think about stocking up. More vapors = large impact on vendor inventories here.

Maybe one of the mods will comment. I'm an early riser and the last two mornings dozens of spam posts are showing up. They are not vape related...

Moved to Site Feedback and Help.

Fighting spam is an ongoing thing. We implement procedures on the back end, and spammers soon find a way around the blocks. It takes time to tweak things so we're not impacting valid users from accessing the site. Sure, we could go the nuclear route and ban an entire country, but that doesn't help those that are trying to log into ECF with valid needs.

You'll also notice that the spam gets cleaned up and doesn't last very long.

Spam comes in to the new members forum all the time. Sometimes they get quite a few posts in before they get caught, like this morning. The amazing thing is that so few get through to the rest of the forum, actually, I don't know if I've ever seen any of those posts outside of the new members area.

The spammers have figured out how to registering as a real person. We try to catch them asap but Moderators do have to sleep too.

I feel disillusioned now I thought the mods were semi-divine supernatural entities who radiated a holy glow of peace and enlightenment. Either that, or giant robots with laser beams shooting out of their eyes. Sometimes both at the same time.
