Tanks have juice in them and they "feed" to an atomizer.
A cartridge (or carto) its a polly filled cartridge with an atomizer built into it.

You can buy atomizers to drip directly onto. These also work with cartridges that hold a small amount of liquid. Cartomizers are a mating of cartridge and atomizer. Tanks are a hybrid of atomizer/cartridge, but have no filler. The liquid wicks through a tube (albeit with some difficulty) to the atomizer.

Tanks seem easiest, but at a cost of flavor and effort.

Cartomizers aren't hard to fill and produce much more flavor IMO. There are alot of options on cartomizers, but the favories are Boge (single coil) and Smoktech dual coil cartos.

ahh ok so you just directly fill the tanks. Seems to me that would be pretty easy compared to filling cartos. Ok..so where does dripping fit into all of this?

dripping is so you are able to switch flavours faster, lr (low resistance) atties are the best for this, plus the taste is amaizing straight dripping, as per your second post, yes filling a tank is a lot easier then filling a carto

Some carto's are very easy to fill. Take a look at the vision. 3.5ml of juice (granted in a top coil design) and you can fill it directly from the bottle. I personally love them.
Tanks have never been something that I like. Reasons have already been stated by Dougiestyle.
r4nd0mCh40s is right that an atty is great.

My personal setup is an atty at home where I can drip easily. When out and about, I use a Vision or CE2

I'm pretty new and started with disposable cigs, then decided to upgrade to a TANK...I really had a bad expeirence....less flavor, leakage and the attomizers both broke within 2 days, I just got a regular attomizer that you have to drip into every couple minutes, and I love it. If your not going to smoke when driving and can handle carrying around a small bottle of ejuice and filling it up, simply open, drip drip and smoke, i would recommend you start there, also get a CARTO to experiment with.

As a beginer I found that dripping was easiest NOT TO MESS UP and least complex, Get yourself a low resistance attomizer to drip and a pack of empty cartomizers to experiment with and VAPE PROPERLY...then experiment with tanks, you want the best first impression possible, then branch out, I tried to skip the rest and regret it.

For ease of use, I recommend the EGO, VAPENY.com offers a nice starter pack for $70, 2 great long life batteries and a drip atomizer and a tank, that way you can see both ends of the spectrum, if you are really just starting i recommend you choose whatever strenght juice you think you will need and also order a higher dose, i found that i was always regretting not getting something stronger, you can always dilute the strong with the weak, but you cant make juice stronger.

As ive stated im a beginner. knowing very little about it all i find the EGO system makes it very easy understand and experiment differnt options...just get the EGO battery and its such a no brainer to switch between drip, carto and tank, no muss no fuss. Good luck man, feel free to contact me if you have any more questions about my experience. love

You guys are great!! TONS of info! Ok so I ordered an eGo for my husband who likes my bloog but it isn't enough of a hit for him and the battery doesn't last him a full days work (12 hr shift). We figured the eGo would be perfect. He has ordered the XL cartos and XL atomizer as well but now he has seen the tank and is thinking he'd like to try that too. Does anyone know where I can get a tank for it and tank cartos? I had no idea the eGo was so mix and match! Very cool!!

I'm not really sure lol
I guess whatever lasts and is of good quality :) That first one looks good but sold out...quite popular I see!
I'm getting more confused by the minute :)
We bought this starter kit for him
Canadian E-cigarette Happy/Joye eGo Starter Kit - Black, Silver, White, Titanium
and I see that it says down in the blurb "Black, Blue, Titanium and White now come with 650mAh eGo-T battery with 5-click on/off safety feature!"
He ordered the titanium colour.
Then he ordered this:
Canadian electronic cigarette Happy/Joye eGo XL Atomizer (atomiser) - Black, Silver
and this:
Canadian electronic cigarette Happy/Joye eGo blank empty XL cartridges
so...
what does he need in order to make it like a tank? (sorry if I'm just not getting it. This is really new to me lol)
