Hello, I'm really glad such forums exist. I would like to try an electronic cigarette to quit smoking or to at least reduce the number of cigarettes.

Now can you tell me what are the best companies out there manufacturing the e-cigarettes? I mean there're so many offers that I'm lost, and another problem is that unfortunately I don't have time at all to search for reviews for each company. I don't really care about the price, so if I just buy the most expensive model, will it be OK?

Thanks for any advice.

It sounds like you want quality. If that is the case you will want a model with better batteries and better performance. I would consider the Super T, the Prodigy the 510 or the Screwdriver. The Prodigy is at puresmoker and you can do a search for the other ones. Some on here will try and tell you some pretty bad models are good like Smoke Everywhere but I would steer clear of those models which are over priced and have many problems.

I checked these models, The Screwdriver seems nice, I didn't only understand what tastes they offer. They just say "25ml of dripping fluid"...

They are China suppliers and have always been top-notch in customer service. If you want a U.S. distributor, try Rock Mountain Vapor and Vapor Stuff.
No offense but is it really safe to buy directly from China? How can I be sure that the products are in compliance with European standards (CE, ROHS etc). Don't get me wrong but I don't want to find out in a year that all that time I had smoked some harmful stuff.

OK, thanks for the information. I have just found a Belgian website sedansa.be I haven't found them on this forum, are they any good? They seem really professional, have their company information with telephone numbers, everything is well explained. I must say this is not the case for the most of the websites I visited earlier. Just some pics, minimum explanation or nothing at all, and the price.

Gotta throw in my .02 here...

It is debateable what is the best model so you can decide that for yourself by looking at reviews and deciding what you like best.

One thing to consider when purchasing from where is the customer service.

I have nothing against any company no matter where they are located here in the US or in China as long as they provide top notch service.

Here is my beef: *IF* you do ever have a problem with your device, or have a question, or need help with a decision ... you can simply CALL one of the US suppliers. Turnaround time is less than half on shipping compared to China based companies if you need replacements or new supplies, etc.

You should decide for yourself, but be sure to keep in mind that wherever you live might be the best place to pick a supplier from. Try contacting them and see what your responses are, and there you have it :)

Take care,
- Hap
