I think vaping is giving me Obsessive Compulsive Disorder guys, because I'm wanting everything to be exactmore and more. Consequently I want to stop worrying about getting enough probe surface area for my multimeter to give me a reading (for one nano-second before it jumps around again), and wondering if my Vamo is doing it's job correctly (many have proven it's off by a few tenths). So! I think it's time to invest in an ohm meter, and I only want to buy one once for the rest of my vaping life. It'll be a multipurpose buy for me actually because I want a coil building deck holder, a screw on multimeter, and something to measure volt drop with. I'm not that picky, I'd just like a really accurate one, through my research I've found 99% of them have a +/-.4 accuracy, so any better than that and I'm a pig in slop. Here's a few of my preferences:

-I'd like it to be more accurate than +/-.4 accuracy if possible.
-An ohm & volt meter, any other features would be awesome (they should make one that will allow you to measure volt drop while your coil is screwed in)
-I'd prefer the 510 connections to be towards the middle of the box as I'll be building on them as well, but no biggie if not.
-Not a plug in: I actually prefer the ones that just take AA/AAA's etc., I don't really need more stuff plugged into my computer. (but no big deal if it isn't)
-Cool lookin! Lol just kidding, I couldn't care less about appearance, what I mean is I don't mind paying for one that's metal/colored/has an led color other than red. (the blue ones'r puuurdy).

But show me whatever ya got guys, if it doesn't line up with any of these preferences I don't care, you may know something I don't. So far the most perfect looking one I've found is actually on FastTech lol.

~It's cheap, most accurate I've seen (+/-.1), sturdy aluminum construction, and it's even got a nice brushed blue finish to it! =D

$17.61 2-in-1 Combo Tester (Ohm Meter + Volt Meter) for E-Cigarette - w/ drawstring pouch at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Thanks if you put any effort in :2cool:, have a good one guys :vapor:

Glad you bought something. For future reference, if you want the best in electrical testing equipment, buy fluke. Fluke meters are the standard all other meters are compared to.

I'm a multimeter sort of fellow. Plastic boxes with connectors and suspect soldering or construction are not for me (though I will admit to owning a couple).

A 6000 count meter is I believe in your future :)

Google it an see what you think.

Oh, I missed that! I don't think there is anything as accurate as what you want in a screw on type meter, but I could certainly be wrong. Interested to see what's suggested now ;)

You want the best? Are you sure?

http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/ohmme...eproducts-_-FeaturedProductsContent-_-6718864

Measure the resistance of your sub-ohm coils accurate to within 0.0004 ohms, (beating the Fluke by a wide margin.) Automatically compensates for lead resistance.
A steal at only £600 (about $900).

For voltage there's this one:
Buy Digital Multimeters RSCAL(2333251),TTI 1705 bench multimeter Aim-TTi 58122-0640 online from RS for next day delivery.
With 12,000 counts it will measure your battery voltage accurate to within 0.0016 volts and calculate the true RMS power that will be delivered to your coil no matter what strange waveform your mod puts out.
Yours for only £478 (about $650).

If you are so concerned with accuracy, I'm surprised you still use a Vamo. Where accuracy counts is on the mod's output, not the multimeter.

For the record, I've had that FastTech multimeter in my shopping cart for a while now. I will order it one of these days. :)

I have a good Fluke meter I bought years ago when I did mobile electronics for a living. Pretty spendy though. I should think that any meter in the $50-$100 price range would be more than sufficient for your needs. That would eliminate obvious garbage meters. Check Lowes or Home Depot. Sometimes you can find a Fluke at a local pawn shop too. An accurate reliable VOM is a good tool to have in general.

~It just so happens that's what my multimeter is :D, I work in the tools and hardware section of lowes so I have a passion for this sort of thing . This will definitely be my "in a hurry meter" as I have one of the best Flukes you can buy! It's beautiful, I can hook it up to my computer and "log" the different ohms, I didn't know Fluke was that well known to be honest, I just kinda ended up with them looking for the best.

~I'm pretty proud of it actually (costs a pretty penny) it's the Fluke 289 True-rms Industrial Logging Multimeter with TrendCapture, accurate up to 0.05%, and can read as low as 0.001 ohms! The coolest part is I can also measure the conductivity of my mech's and even their frequency/

Fluke 289 True-rms Industrial Logging Multimeter with TrendCapture

But my thoughts exactly friend, my multimeter is for industrial electrical logging, and I know that won't be beaten by a plastic box with connections soldered by some kid in california.

~What I was going to do is test the accuracy WITH my multimeter and see if it's close, and if it's .1% is accurate I'll go ahead and use it. but for the price of 10$ that's a decent deal for the coil building deck holder I was looking for.

"most shibby" means "best"?
i read that title oppositely. essentially i read "whats the worst Ω & V meter"
...just sayin, not picking. im likely the one whos off lol.

if the FT one fails, Madvapes sells one by Smok that appears to be better (on short glance) for $14.99
The Omnitester
I was actually going to go with the smok omnitester because I trust smoktech, but their accuracy is +/-.4% too and I want the "cream of the crop". Plus the connections are on the top, and I want them in the middle for building

- I could see me putting some pressure on the deck and the whole thing flipping over if you get what I mean.

*yes "shibby" means "awesome/best/thes****t/excellent", you'd have to be around in the 90's and be paying attention to American culture to understand :p. Look up "Dude, Where's My Car?" the movie and watch it, you won't be dissapointed ...or maybe you will it depends.

LOL my needs are very needy when dealing with electrical accuracy (hence OCD), and I work at Lowe's  I'm asking about the most accurate little box that you screw your deck on and it gives you an average ohm/volt measurement. I already have a fluke and it's the one of the best on ECF I can almost guarantee.

That' why I said "I want to stop.....wondering if my Vamo is doing it's job correctly (many have proven it's off by a few tenths)." Everyone knows the Vamo isn't the most accurate instrument in the world, what do you expect for $28 :p. I should've probably kept my almighty provari, because that's a little more accurate, but still doesn't compare to my fluke.
