What's this? Is anyone else seeing it?

These little ECF bubbles weren't there this morning. Is this what tapatalk does? I'm on a PC. Why are they on some threads and not others? Hold me, I'm scared. lol

It's shock. We're human. We'll adapt. ;)

I saw it once before, but only briefly. I'm adapting as well. :)

But please give comments, then SJ will know if you like, don't like, etc.

Give me time to try it out 1st...before commenting much. Is there a legend? I will dig around for one in help.

The old envelopes were harder to....differentiate....between their unique meanings. Maybe the new ones with very different colors will be easier.

EDIT:
There is an Icon legend at the bottom of the main page....but doesn't match (?yet?).

You're right, the legend doesn't match up (yet? is an excellent question).

Here's what I think I'm seeing:

Listing of threads in a sub-forum:
Purple Envelope - Thread with unread posts
Purple ecf logo - Thread with no unread posts
Orange Envelope - Hot thread with unread posts
Orange ecf logo - Hot thread with no unread posts

Listing of sub-forums:
Bright Purple ecf logo - contains unread posts
Dim Purple ecf logo - contains no unread posts

Nope, not a fan.
Glad to see i'm not crazy and aren't the only one who noticed this.
The icons are too cutesy and too big. The envelope with green arrow was pretty easy to see what threads I've posted in.
I'm sure I could get used to just seeing what color the icon is but I like the old way better.
Is there a way to go back to the old way?

*edit*
Ok, the more I see it the more I hate it. Please please please give us a way to turn it off.
yes, I hate change...now get off my lawn! :D

Maybe it wasn't just shock. :) I've gone through all the skins (not mobile) and Blackened and Blackened Red don't seem to have the logo in different subforums (at least not yet) but do have orange envelopes.

So my comment-
I actually don't mind the logo, they just confuse me right now, BUT the orange is jarring and distracting. Orange and blue are great complementary colors IRL but I think analogous works better for computer screens. Shades of purple, another blue/teal...something soothing to the eye.

Well, according to the very distracting over-sized bright orange bubble, this is now a "hot thread," as it contains more than 1 page..

It's too bad something like some boxed numbers wouldn't already tell me that..

Oh, wait... ;)

Anyway, people aren't afraid of change -- they just don't like bad change... :)

EDIT: Apparently a "hot thread" is actually based on the # of views? Either way:

Just to clarify....it's OK with me. I don't need an envelope to know it's a thread. I have an easier time remembering clear-meaning pictures though. Colors are OK too...like Red bubble/circle for hot. Just an example:

Thread I've posted in...not hot. (That's supposed to look like a pencil.)
Hot thread posed in would have red rather than purple. Or flames.

Stuffis like that.
