Ok so I'm sick and tired of the flooding, gurgle, leaking, all of that insanely fun stuff we deal with. My quest has begun in search of a good VV/VW mod with a rda. I am kinda strapped for funds but I figure I can pull it together to get a new fairly inexpensive setup.

I'm looking to spend around 50-100 dollars for everything. I've seen the MVP and SID in person and they've vaped really well. I know the MVP is cheap compared to most devices but can it handle a nice rda? Also which rda do you recommend for a new guy on a budget?

The IGO-W is a nice RDA for very little $$, usually around $10-$12. Works well with single or dual coils, but you do need to enlarge the air hole slightly for best performance. You can drill it, or use a dremel, or just a jewelers round file will do the job.

And the MVP works well, just keep your coil builds around 1.5-.2.0Ω

So 1.5 ohm is the lowest I can go with the MVP? I know anything lower really is best on a mech right? The I-GO doesn't have any leaking issues and preforms well? If that's the case I'll be coming out at around 60 bucks for everything, which is close to what I payed for my VV spinner and mini protank 3.

Those Hana clones are about as expensive as the IPV right? I'm open to clones so maybe that would help my budget?

Yes, the Hana clones (30w) are a bit cheaper, but not by much, maybe $10-15 difference between the Hana and IPV 30 (obv IPV 50w is a bit more).

Been using a Hana clone for over 2 months, and i obv love the thing (its sitting next to the keyboard), but they are far from issue free.

The IPV's haven't been out terribly long but the early reports are quite positive, and ive seen very few reports of issues (some report atty flush mount issues, battery door w/ a slight lip etc) but nothing major that ive seen.

*EDIT* I guess theres a new video up from Pbusardo where he is having issue with the unit, time will tell if this was an isolated/early release issue or an actual problem. Info can be found in the IPV thread.

I appreciate the help man. There's a B&M around here that sells a few smoktech mech mods for around 25, I know that's a whole different world but hows a mech mod stack up against something like that? Given I won't be building anything crazy it should be fairly safe with the right battery right?

the patriot is a good beginner RDA to start with. lots of room to avoid shorts . as far as a mod goes, try to find the type (side button/bottom button ) that you feel comfortable with. try each for a week or so if possible. buy what you like best on the cheap.
if after a month you are still into it... start looking at U.S. made mods and RDA's. i have never regretted a penny i have spent on my authentic mods once i really decided that was the way i wanted to go. the only regret i have on my vaping equipment was buying 6 different clones trying to find a reliable , problem free mod.

I understand being on a tight budget, but realize you won't get quality for cheap. There will be shortcomings with anything that is cheaper. Things like thinner metal, poor quality metal, less quality workmanship, poor machining, less attention to detail, noisy or rough cap threads, poor quality fire buttons, poor quality 510 connection, etc. This goes for either a regulated mod or a mechanical mod. You usually get what you pay for.

Yes, the MVP has wattage and amperage limits that will limit how low you go. 1.5Ω will work well and give you a nice vape and lots of practice in building coils. If you find you like your results and want to experiment further, you will have a better idea what features you like in an RDA. You may find a 1.5Ω coil works well enough you won't need a mech or sub-ohm to enjoy your juice....:vapor:
