Hello all,

I'm new to this and upon initial searching, I cam across all these branded ecigs that have starter kits $150 and up and thought that was what there was. After doing more searching and research I find that the widley accepted models (510,801,901,etc) are far more in use and $50 or so.

What is the deal with these high priced ecigs ? Are the new USA manufactured ones or just branded version of the common ones ? If just rebranded, how do they get buy with selling so high ?

I bough my first, A njoy Npro, and I'm finding no matter how I draw I just can't get much vapor and hardley no flavor and hardley any throat hit. Is this typical ? I am getting nicotine. I can tell that but I keep going back to my analogs to get the sensation. I noticed inside the cart, there is VERY little filler. IS this part of the reason ? Would more filler and good juice help ? Or is it a crappy atty ?

Any advise would be appreciated.

I have since orderwed a 501 after reading more and am hoping it will be more like The analog smoking sensation I was hoping for. I knoe if I can get close, I will be able to lay thiose nasty analogs down for good.

Thanks

No atomizers are manuf. in the US - they are marked up because, imo, the companies want to grab people before they have a chance to research and hopefully come HERE for advice on much cheaper PV that work better.
The Npro is I beleive an RN series atty - I dont have one of those myself so Im not sure what to advise about making it work better (melt it down perhaps..lol) but others have them and someone will pop in to give tips I'm sure.

welcome to ECF and good for you for wanting to quit!

these $150 units and starter kits are what we consider "mods" which house rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. depending on which battery and how many you use, you can use these mods to vape at 3.7v-6v. most people move onto these mods since they're more powerful and the batteries hold a longer charge than the 510, 801 and 901 which are batteries themselves.

i'm not familiar with using a Npro, but i've used a 510 with a lot of success and for me, quitting was easy with it since it had great vapor production. i would suggest looking into getting a 510 starter kit from cignot. they have different types of kits depending on what kind of accessories you want, but i suggest getting one with a PCC so you'll always have charged battery on the go, and/or a USB PT so you can vape at your computer without having to recharge.

best of luck to you and if you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask. everyone on here is super helpful and knowledgeable so i hope you enjoy your time on here!

I too thought that $150 was just the going rate for a PV because I didn't know anything about all the other (and MUCH better) options. These mall kiosks offer the absolute worst PV's money can buy, and charge $15 for a box (5) cartridges, $70 for extra batteries, $50 for chargers, and $30 for extra atomizers.

I was frequenting the kiosk until I came across this forum, and now feel like a fool :) Once I discovered how much cheaper it is to buy a REAL PV online, I asked the mall kiosk worker and the response was that all the vendors are in China, and you will receive poor service, and there are no "Lifetime Guarantee's". Well, the Lifetime Guarantee does not exist at the mall kiosk, because the second something went wrong with my kiosk PV, they wouldn't honor this guarantee. Also false...there are tons of great suppliers in the US, and MUCH better customer service. Stay AWAY from the kiosks, and place your order with one of the many reputable suppliers listed in the forum.

The PV's they have at the kiosks also have special cartridges and atomizers that you can't get anywhere else. You also can't re-fill the cartridges because the casing is so cheap that anything you put in basically drips right out.

When I started with the kiosk PV, I was under the impression that it would not fulfill the sensations from smoking analogs, but after ordering a DSE901 and some various juices, I would never go back. I get plenty of vapor, and plenty of throat hit to satisfy.

By the way...I spent $150 for the starter kit, $30 for an atomizer, $90 for 6 boxes of cartridges (30), $50 for a car charger for a total of $320 in the first week. I then ordered a DSE901 kit, 3 boxes of empty cartridges, an extra atomizer and some ejuice form ecigsupply for a total of $65. It has kept me going for a month and I have plenty of juice left, and have not had any problems with my original battery or atomizer yet. I still have all those cartridges from the $150 model that I'd love to get rid of. Someone PM me if you are really here on this forum and using the kiosk PV, and I'll be happy to send over the whole kit and extras free of charge.

I am having this exact same issue right now. I dropped $150 on a starter kit and a wack of cartridges and have been getting little to no vapor production whatsoever...am going to try and charge it tonight because I was waiting for it to run out of juice first and see if that helps but more then likely I will end up getting one of the other PV's recommended here. Check out my thread in this forum, theres a ton of helpful advice that people have given me so far!

I would just switch if I were you. You're not going to get any reasonable amount of vapor or throat hit out of the kiosk PV's. And say you did...you're going to spend SO much more money for something that is just piss poor compared to any other PV out there. I'm so happy I switched. To me, the money I spent on the kiosk PV was worth it only because it opened the doors to finding much better alternatives.

Oh no totally, I just want to be completely sure that I'm getting everything (or nothing lol) out of it that I'm supposed to. When they sent the unit to me it appeared to be fully charged but it might have just been a residual charge on the lithium ion battery, so I'm just going to recharge it to make sure it's as crummy as I think it is and then I'm going to go the route of the 510 or something else...

It sucks that I probably wasted the $150 but at least it's led me to the right place and I decided to see what my other options were...I'm still smoking analogs but hopefully with the information I've gleaned from this site I won't be for much longer.

Kirssstens got it right. They charge that because they can. I'll admit the e-cig you have is probably not the best, but it's not all that bad. I had one like that (not that brand) for several months. It just needed a bit more oomph, but I got a passthrough (which I'll admit isn't always convenient) and it wasn't too bad at all. The passthrough gives you more like 5 volts instead of the battery at 3.7 or less. If you have a bunch of atomizers or cartridges, you might want to try one just so it won't be a total waste.

Which model did you get for $150? My guess is you probably are getting everything out of it that it offers (which is hardly anything). The one I got was the "Smoke51 Trio", terrible. My guess is that once you get the 510 and maybe some atomic cinnacide from tastyvapor, you'll never touch an analog again.

The one I got is from electroniccigarettesinc - I've been told that it's a fairly popular unit (just happens to be branded) but it's definitely not doing what I want it to do. I've tried every combination of slow/long inhales possible and it's still not giving off any real vapor. Like I said, my last ditch is to give it a full charge...maybe it's just a battery issue but if that doesn't work I'll definitely be getting a 510. I'm just so sick of how ....ty I feel from smoking but not sick of smoking itself, if that makes sense. I really felt like this was going to be 'it' - still hopeful that it is and maybe I just picked up a dud.

Hey All,

Thanks for the replies. I actually picked up the NJoy Npro at a pilot gas station for $50 plus $20 for 10 carts so I didn't get screwed too bad. Just not much flavor or throat hit out of it. Can't wait to get me 501 and experience what it is supposed to be like. I also ordered juice so maybe I can put some juice in the carts I have and get some better flavor so it won't be a total loss.

The $150 units I was refering to all seem to be Mini's. Like Green Nicotine etc. Green nicotine is $150 for starter. Is this just a repackaged china unit ? If so, they are sure gigging people!

Hearing all of your horror stories about Mall E-Cig dealers, I am just counting my blessings every day that I found this Forum prior to buying any PV....I lucked out big time...I first and so far only PV order was a Janty's Ego Kit...$78.00.....Have not needed to look anyplace else since....Vaping and analog free since Feb 11...

I mean seem to be super mini's.

Is there a way to edit posts ?

Once your post count is higher yes you can edit posts.
Read the sticky 'How many posts do I need to...'

And yes I think they are just repackaged Chinese units (although its possible they use their own batetry packs) - if they weren't Njoy and SE wouldnt need to ask a judge to stop the FDA from blocking their imports...
