Just tonight I saw that there are different 510 attys available from several different suppliers. I need to order new ones and I'm a bit worried about ordering the same type I've been having problems with. I'm using the Joye 510 atty with the small gold band and I'm not happy with how many have a bad taste after vaping just a short time.

I vape at 3.7 and usually on a PT. It's okay most of the time on the 510 - at least until I can decide on a 5V mod.

I could sure use some atty advise. Have you found anything you like better than the one I'm using and where did you buy them?

TIA

It's really hard to tell who's selling what. Just because it's sold as a Joye510 atty doesn't necessarily mean it's a Joye510 atty. There are over 200 manufacturers of these attys that I know of, and possibly 1000 that I don't. The 510 is kind of like a personal computer. Just because it's a Joye 510, doesn't necessarily mean it's a Joye510.

To make matters worse, the only way to know which atty you're actually using is to closely look at the bottom of it. joye attys are easy to spot, because the steel wool in the bottom of it is kind of a V shape. There's the atomizer in the middle, and the steel wool is anchored to the bottom on both sides. If it does not do that, it's not a Joye atomizer. To find out what you've been vaping on, it never hurts to actually contact your retailer, let them know what you think of the atty, and ask them who their supplier is, so that you don't buy those accidentally from anywhere else.

Over 200 companies MANUFACTURING the 510-style atomizer? Really? Are you serious?

$7 for a 6 month warrenty on a $8 atty, sounds a bit crazy to me especially if you include shipping the atty back to them into the equation.

I found that odd, too. Especially if they are exactly the same atty. I don't want to send things back, I just want something worth what I pay for it.

The real joye attys are best with my regular vaping volts. I have found through personal experience that they work pretty good also at higher volatges as well. I will say that when vaping at higher voltages that the knock off SLB 510 attys give me a better vaping experience...taste wise. They burn cooler.

I have only seen two different types of atty's for the 510. One of them has an oval whit ring at the base of the bridge, the other has a siver round washer looking ring at the base of the bridge.

I was told by jennlsnoopy that the real Joye atty's are the ones with the oval white plastic ring at the base of the bridge. These are the ones that work the best IMO. She told me that Rocky Mountain Vapor you have reached the mountain top of electronic cigarettes! had them, so I ordered some from them. I have not received them yet, so I don't know if they are the good ones or not. It seems like getting the good ones is hit or miss with the vendors these days.

You can order some from rocky mountain vapor and give them a try. Or you can call the vendors to be sure before you order. Most of the vendors will tell you which kind they have. Unfortunately the vendor I usually use tole me that he has none of the genuine Joye atty's. But at least he was honest with me and didn't try to sell me what i didn't want.

Good luck

I don't like the Joye attys personally, although I haven't tried any other 510 atty. It may just be they are all problematic. I find the 510 gives me a nasty taste after a few vapes no matter what I do. I've already talked about this in other threads so I don't want to repeat my issues. I'm just looking for ones that work right if that's possible.

I would give up on the 510 if it didn't have such a good TH and I hadn't bought everything 510. I hate to waste money, but I also hate to throw good money after bad if this is a constant problem.
