Alright, so slowly managing to find what actually works.. I think most of us know by now that carts with fiber fill seem to die real fast.. I've played with straw + poly plug mod.. not bad.. but if you don't get it right.. big leaky mess. I read about the 'blue foam' mod.. and while trying to find the filter material (which I've read debates about how its polyurathan foam) I found blue and yellow sponges at the $ store also polyurathane reticulated foam..dunno which is safer for human use.. something made for dishes or for fishes..

So I grabbed a few of the yellow and the blue.. started out with the blue in regular 510 carts on my Riva; the blue has a larger cell size than the yellow. I found nastish flavor at first, so I started washing with water, then with PGA to try and at least get rid of the easily soluble dyes and such..

The blue foam worked pretty good with the 510 carts; I cut a single piece of foam that would fit the cart as best I could; sometime they would leak of course..

I graduated to XL carts / atty for my Riva, and when through all the experiments again. I found the blue foam was too airy for the size of the XL cart, so tried the yellow. This seemed to work better, but such a pain trying to cut a piece to the right size.

I had a brainstorm; why not cut the foam into little strips and grab a bundle of them, then it would fill up the cart nicely. So I cut up a bunch of yellow foam strips a little under 1" long x 1/8"x1/8" approx. And it worked great; grab the right size bundle squeeze it as you insert, and it expands into all the little corners and seals the cart nicely. This worked good; no leaks; nice vapor.. but once they get saturated with juice, forget about taking them out and getting them back in again...

So next step; I cut the pieces even smaller, idea is to get a kinda foam filler rather than a single chunk of foam. This seems to be the ticket.. you can play around and rearrange the pieces.. I do find sometimes if you have too small a piece on top it will 'fall' into the atty; yukky taste.. the 1/8"x1/8" strips about 1/3" long seem to work good. I'm gonna try using small cubes at the bottom with a kinda foam disc plug on top next.

My favorite is my Joker even with all the negative reviews others have given it. It's lightweight, pretty, and has been a solid performer since I got it in May. Even though it is a variable voltage, I still find myself staying around 5V. But it's nice to have the option to ramp it up a tad if I'm in need of a little more oomph. Also use my Fistpack quite a bit, although it has taken a beating and is all scratched up and the atty connection is loose. Was kind of against all the Ego hype in the beginning, because I tried some of the first LR attys that came out and they weren't that great, then recently tried some Joye LR 510s and they are awesome just like everyone had been saying! I swore that everyone was lying! My Chuck is the first mod that I bought and sadly it is sitting in a drawer being neglected along with my GLV. Although the GLV served me well and made me realize how much I love 5V and that I could not go back to 3.7.

I am interested in trying a juice fed mod, but not excited to pony up major cash for it. Kinda waiting to see what new developments come out and maybe next year I will get something different.

I use Frisco & peppermint daily. It's weird that gingerbread cookies used to be my daily vape and now it's just not tasting the same. I just haven't been that interested in desserts & fruits lately. I'm a 510 lover, but have tried 801, 901, 306, HV 510s, LR 510s & cartos (reg & LR). Just saw a post that got me interested in trying an LR semi 801 atty from Ikenvape.

I'm definitely a TH seeker.

I use an altsmoke silver vein BB. I love the size of this mod. I use CR2's in it with the Terminator from notcigs. I rarely change the voltage. It always seems to be set at 5.25V. I like to use Boge cartos with a drip tip or standard resistance Joye and SLB 510 attys. I rarely use the 14500 batts with it.

I really can't wait for the release of the Darwin and other mods that use the same technologies.

I am contemplating a mod at this point, diy I think, (cheaper and cant afford too much) I really want to try 5v because there is just something missing and I think that may be it, I really hope so. keep getting the cravings and dont want to back step. Just hope a 5v mod will help.

808 cartos didn't do it for me, to much of an airy draw. Only tried V4L type so that may be some of the issue, but I've tried a couple different 510 cartos and I think I'm just an atty girl.

I've only tried the eGo, and a couple 3.7v boxes, one juice fed. They are nice, but I'm wanting to try a round mod. The maxi rough stack is the most affordable and probably what I will get first, but I swoon over the GLV2, and I really like the look of the ProVari.

I'm waiting on a flashlight mod also, I'll show it off when I get it.

I will have to 2nd the joker av. I ended up buying one after seeing the reviews by smokie. I got my first one in black and then after a week decided that I just had to have another... in green. While I do love the ability to adjust my voltage... 5v is where it's at for me as well. There are a bunch of negative reviews on it... but mine are both functioning perfectly still after 4 months.

I started off on the ego and 3.7v was just never enough for me right from the start. Even with LR atties.. it just didn't quite cut it.

The only mod out there that is enticing me at the moment is the pro-vari. Due to it being slightly smaller in size and only having to use 1 battery. As well, the fact that it has a drip reservoir is definitely the other deciding factor. I'll be picking one of them up upon release. Maybe two... lol

I'm not sure which one of mine I like the most, it varies daily.

I like the GLV-2 4.4V the most for my desserts on a 2.2V atty

The GLV-2 5V is great for fruits and cinnamons,, I like a standard 901 the most -- nebulabrot has been telling me that the 302/801 may be better but I've never had one of those nor an adapter.

I like the GGTS for sitting back and vaping most anything on LR510s, I am going to do some HV vaping on this also, haven't yet, though, with 510s and 901s from GHO

The GGTB is great for stealth and field vaping, for true stealth the GLV-mini is almost invisible, I use LR901s or LR306s on those depending on my mood.

The BSB and the Chuck (which I used for HV vaping -- flavor blasts best with extra-flavor juice IMO) are backups in case of........man, I smoked a long time, I always had backup packs and lighters and old habits die hard!!!

I have owned both a REO and a journeyman, both bottom feeders. I didn't like them much, thought they were a PITA, but others swear by them so what the hell???:)

I use a VapeMate now, its great, but I didn't like the terminator, the danged screwdriver thingy drove me nuts. My next purchase will be the GLV-3 when released; people say that VV is the way to go but now there is even more advanced ones like the Eclipse (Digitalciggz) and the Darwin (see Mutt's thread) on the very-near horizon so I may hold out just a bit longer.

I hope that helps.........:blush::blush::blush::blush:
