I noticed this today when I was thinking about how to clean carto's and how long I can make a Boge last.
The Boge thing was partly because I still have a few from an old batch and I read some posts about the new ones being of lesser quality.
Anyways, in the old days, I would not think twice about picking up a carton of cigs at $10+ per pack. $2 disposable lighters often did not last or were easily lost so I bought several at a time. I must have at least 5 or 6 good lighters that cost more then $50 each (including a vintage Dunhill worth several hundred).
Now, I am looking at a Boge LR that cost a buck and a half and wondering how long I can make it last.
Is this normal???

Sounds normal to me. I vape my clearos till the juice turns to syrup, even then I turn and flip it around to wick every last drop I can before cleaning them (or they start tasting funny, whichever comes first).

Personally, I want my hardware to last as long as possible because 5$ of hw costs me 5-10$ in shipping. Also, one of the reasons I decided to go the PV route was the cost. My cheapness was always there, I was only justifying tobacco because I had no alternative.

WHen you think back to a time when you were doing the stinkies when each one was finished, it was finished. Did you ever save your butts? they were disgusting. But when a carto is "tired" (it never really finished) it still shiny, it can still work. There is just so much use you can get out of a stinky. SO much potential out of a carto. SO you hang on to it. WHen its really dead who knows
- jewellery
- poker chips
- fishing lures
- the list goes on.

Tobacco can have a potent denial attached to the price tag.

Some of us may be very conditioned to recycle as well!
You know, I think it is only right to get as much life as we can from the products. If someone finds an additional use, by all means share. No harm in being resourceful :)

Well the metal of a cartomizer would last but the coil gets a buildup of caked on sediment and the filler material gets clocked with sediment and the cotton degrades and it looses it's freshness that being said I too tend to hang onto a carto longer than I should some times . Some days I say to myself what am I doing and end up tossing out 3 or 4 cartos that have been hanging around too long . I am not into trying to clean them for the cost of them it just does not seem worth it to me .

This made me smile, then I realised that I am doing exactly the same... I started out vaping not worrying about the cost of it so long as it got me off analogues, now my biggest challenge seems to be how cheap can I make my vaping. :D

Twister.
Fun movie but a little over the top in a lot of places.

Actually, vaping related crafts would be a neat idea...

Save all the stuffing for several years and make a pillow. Go to sleep with the smell of RY4... Can't sleep? Roll over to Jokesmoke...

The mind boggles...

nah..i was thinking the same thing TBH.

Guess you now have a friend in abnormality :p

I have been using my new Redds ecigs (LOVE THEM!!) and they use cartomizers. I got 10 with the kit and bought another 10. I have been refilling 2 or 3 of them for almost a week and wondering how long im supposed to do this , when is the right time to change to a new carto?

one a side note..haven't even touched or even been tempted to touch an analog since i started using these ecigs. Ive stood outside with my staff, 3-5 of them smoking analogs and im vaping merrily away and it hit me on Monday i wasnt even tempted..

Hmm dreams of future orders to Jugheads....not a good way to save money. :p But I applaud your creativity!!

Welcome to vaping :) Yes, I've still battled the temptation, but vaping makes the fight easy.

I love the smell of RY4 in the morning

I'm more of a bacon & eggs person. :p

I read somewhere it is an awful e juice to vape

Oh yes, that is why I wait for the smell to waft through the air, inhale deeply, then sit to the real thing and enjoy. ;)

I think bacon would be a good vape....sounds crazy, but who knows until we try it! A good way to spare calories! Eat the eggs & vape the bacon. Hmm what is cheaper....the juice or the real bacon? (sorry had to fit that in to stay on topic).

When I first started vaping I always compared everything to the cost of cigarettes. I'd spend silly amounts of money on vape gear and justify it by telling myself it's cheaper than smoking. My last cigarette was October 14th, 2011, I've now realised that I'm a vaper not a smoker, and comparing vaping costs with smoking is just silly. I now do a price comparison on all the gear I buy, I refuse to pay over 50 cents per ml delivered for juice.

I don't clean cartos, but that's due to laziness, I totally understand and applaud people who get the best value out of their vape gear as they can.At the end of the day, we all want value for money, but with all the new products coming out we occasionally don't get it. We should get the best value out of the products that work as we can.
