So I've got a bit overboard as of late.

I've been using KGO-VVs and Vivi Novas for like a year off and on, but always ended up back on cigarettes, especially when they stopped working.

I finally relented and ordered a ProVari, and the floodgates broke, ordered a few different RBAs, a DNA20 mod etc etc.

I feel like at this point I have just about everything I could possibly need aside from occasional restocks of wicks/wires/cartos and maybe 1-2 more carto tanks just to switch flavors easier. (Dear god svoemesto/GG, please don't release a new more badass RBA anytime soon. PLEASE). And then juice, though I placed a big order from MtBaker and should have enough for like a year ^_^.

Anyway, PLEASE tell me I've reached the affordable part. I think I'm gonna have to put my credit cards in the freezer.

Any tips on how to not want a new toy each week?

One thing to try is to pay yourself first. sharebuilder dot com is a great company and you can setup an account and have it automatically deduct like 50 bux a month or something from your checking account. It's a great way to remove some of the disposal from you disposable income to other parties and keep it in your pocket. It's also fun to put it into something, forget about it going out, and then every few months take a look and see this nice little pile of money.

Just a thought.

The affordable part?

If you simply want great performance....you didn't have to spend over $100 even. A few ego-twists, some kanger pro tanks or nice carto tanks...and some great e-liquid can ALL be had for under $100 total.

You have to ask yourself what you want out of vaping. If vaping is a HOBBY for you, as it sounds like, since you spent so much on a provari, then vaping will NEVER be as cheap as smoking cigarettes.....cigarettes weren't a hobby.

I see people here on ECF all the time spend a ton on vape products....and then wonder why it "cost so much to vape". It doesn't....vaping is FAR cheaper than smoking cigs....the issue is with people going overboard and buying a ton of equipment.

Nothing wrong at ALL will spending as much as you want to spend....especially if vaping is a hobby. However, do yourself a favor and determine right NOW if vaping is a HOBBY, or simply a system of nicotine delivery.

If you determine it IS a hobby, then I would say go a step further and create a monthly vape budget. Don't go over the budget.

only if you block ecf from your computer

The need a warning ecf can be hazardous to you wallet

But then again its been much more fun and enjoyable this way

Wanting new toys is fine. Buying every new toys you see may not be.
Weigh your priorities.

I can't really give you tips on how to NOT want things....because that is a psychological issue, not a vape issue.

People desiring nice things is normal.....unfortunately, we live in a consumer based society/nation - and people have been programmed to BUY BUY BUY everything they see. WANT, BUY, WANT, BUY, WANT, BUY..and so on.

Be a smart consumer. Determine beforehand your budget. Determine WHY you are buying things, and what you WANT out of the products you are buying.

I set aside a vape budget for myself, and I have not ONCE reached that budget for the month. I land FAR below it, each month.

You are saving your health my friend even if it costs you less, the same, more. The price of saving your health is invaluable. So trust me my friend, you ARE saving

That's an excellent point! It often get's left out of the thinking too, the long term costs of a smoking related illness are brutal, oxygen tanks, numerous hospital stays, prescription medicines, extra visits with pulmonary specialists, in home nursing... the list goes on and on, so you have your immediate short term expense of buying cigarettes and then after a life time of doing that you give your self this nice little anti-annuity payment that wipes out your savings and wrecks your quality of life in the last few years. Better to decide if it's a hobby and stick to a budget and or decide if it's a nicotine delivery system. If it is the latter, and you tuck away a little bit of the money you formerly spent on tobacco, in a few years time with the benefits of a little compound interest you will really have something to feel good about.

Problems always occur, when you're on the cutting edge of new technology.

When you encounter these problems, you can either: a) take time to research and fix it or b) throw money at the problem. ;)

What type are you? :D

Packs here are $6-7 each, and they're set to go up another dollar. My Halo Triton kit paid for itself within a week, and it still runs strong. I do the maintenance, and buy spare parts, but I'm still way ahead of my wallet ;)

I've been vaping for 3 weeks now. In that time I've spent about $180. Bought an EVOD starter kit (2 EVODS, 2 650 ego batteries, 5 spare coils charger and a bottle of awful juice) for $60, tried a few local juices at $9 and $12 for 15ml and just spent $78 at MBV for a few bottles of juice and an MVP2. My wife was ...... until she realized I would have spent almost that much in a month on cigarettes.

I plan to buy a protank 2 or similar and another few bottles of juice in the next couple weeks, probably another $50-60. That will give me enough juice to last 2-3 months. After that, I'll probably ending up spending $20-30 a month on juice. Overall about 2 months to break even I think and then I'll consider it $100+ a month savings.
