I think you'll find that Xmas derives from the chi rho symbol which is one of the earliest christian symbols. It consists of the letters X (chi) & P (rho) superimposed over each other. X & P being the first 2 letters of the word Christ in Greek. Therefore Xmas is a legitimate expression of the word Christmas.


Whether or not this means Windows XP is a Christian PC operating system is debatable:)

I find it funny that businesses wont say merry christmas but instead will say happy hollidays so as not to offend anyone that is not of the christian faith, and therefore not get any of their money. My buddies own a computer store and they put Merry Christmas in big letters on their window, they say if it offends you that we are proud to be christians then go somewhere else and shop. LOL.
