If the extra's are new and unused then they already have the testing liquid (primer) in them so just leave them like that.
Used one's just store them as is. If they are stored for a long time they will dry out anyway so it makes no difference if they are wet or dry. I have some that are over a year old been sitting in a box and they still work and were dry as a bone when I tried them.
There are some members that drain their atties every nite B4 use the next day-- I on the other hand treat an atty like $10 liquid .....
By storing them, do you mean long term? Keep them wet w/ a cart ON. Sounds like you have them in rotation now, or were you just testing them out? Use a multi-meter.
Most atties come primed ready to be shelved in a nice cool, dark place.
