When the message compposer does duplicate posts

Every so often this happens:

You compose your message - typa typa typa - and hit submit.

A pop up box comes up alerting you "Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page? Doing so will cause you to lose any saved information." You have a Yes or No option.

Click on Yes and the message posts twice in the forum:

That was the infamous lag induced double post. These happen from time to time on Forums. I'll remove the second one

problem is - it's still happening quite often


but ecf connect and page loading times have improved substantially so why still those double posts?

Ok. But is there any way for an end user to prevent this from happening so we don't have to bug you about it? If I respond "no" instead of "yes" when that message box pops up does that change anything?

it's a little tedious, rick - no matter how you respond, yes or no, the post might have posted. so, what i do, i copy the post then i cancel it, hit refresh to see if it posted anyhow. if it did, all is well - if not, i paste the copied post into a new reply box and keep my fingers crossed this time the message box won't pop up.
