When to change / dispose of cartridges? I have a boge leo

So I believe the model I have is the dse-801 cartridges for the Boge Leo.

Just curious, I have been cleaning them when putting in new liquids. Does anyone have a picture of how high the foam / pollyfill is supposed to be within the cartridge? Present time my is about 3/4 of the way to the top.

I hate the burnt taste that I sometime get before I have to refill. I know some have recommended the Blue Foam which I can get from the Pet Store, does anyone have a recommended video of how the 801 cartridges should be filled? How long does these bad boys last before disposing of them? What's the usual indicator that the cartridge needs to be disposed? Thanks again!

I just clean and reuse carts. I do not have luck reusing the filler in my tiny M401 carts so I cut a blue foam plug to use instead and I love love love the blue foam. I started by cutting down the precut 510/901 pieces at strictlyejuice.com then got the uncut stuff (Marineland Rite-size U Foam Sleeve in the aquarium dept of Petsmart).

One of my carts is getting a bit stretched from heat and use - my M401 carts slide over the atty so that makes them a bit loose. If it gets too loose I'll start a new cart. But I've been using the same cart since I started vaping (almost 2 months) and been using blue foam filling in it for over a month and other than the cart being a bit looser than it was new, both are still working fine.

I have used that one cart 90 percent of the 2 months because it's my tobaccos cart. And I actually hardly ever wash the filler though I do wash the outside of the cart. I mix in it - a drop of this and a drop of that. I like mixing Turkish blends w/ chocolate, vanilla-almond, other Turkish blends etc.
