where can I find a flat washer for positive post - genesis style?

I tried @ home depot and Harbor freight but the smallest they have is still too big.

Any help would be appreciated. - THX

Try Mr. Metric. They have M2 and M3 washers that should work for you. Plus no minimum order, although shippiing is $6...

take the metal washer from the silicone cap on a vivi nova, put it upside down on the 2nd nut (so the flat part is on top and under the top nut); haven't tried it cause with proper tension on the top coil, you don't need it. Leave that leg a bit slack.

you might want to try you local ACE hardware for o-rings and washers

+1 for ACE... They seem to have a much better assortment of washers, bolts, nuts and o-rings.

I never had any luck at Lowes or Home Depot either. But Ace Hardware has a lot of drawer hardware. I've found stainless metric nuts, screws, and washers there.

Here is an ebay listing for something that I think will work well. These are wider than standard washers by 1mm, stainless steel and are m2 (2mm internal diameter):

Any idea on a spring? I'd like to convert the post to spring-loaded with washers on top (another reason I wish the design didn't require removing the center post to disassemble, but I digress...) so that it doesn't pull the top coil when tightening.

Cut down a spring from a ball point pen. You may have to experiment a bit to see how much to cut it.

Thanks, but it's not really my original thought. I've seen them set up that way. One person said they used the spring from a ballpoint pen, but I've opened just about every pen I have in the house and not one is small enough to work on the AGA. They're all too big. I checked out the spring selection at my local hardware and nothing is small enough. I'll have to see if the Ace hardware has such a thing.

I had already replied above, but I tried that. I can't find one small enough in the pens I have around. The "standard" size is just too big, although it might work with washers, which I don't have yet.

Not familiar with genesis but I use magnetic disks instead of washers when if I need to make a better connection - can attach to battery or device, but when disconnecting the little devils might jump around.
