Where can I find a short metal momentary push button?

Hello, does anyone know where I can find one? I've been searching through Aliex and Google and all of the push button seem to have long threads. Since it doesn't have an LED shouldn't it be shorter?

I am using the tactile buttons (round actuator) but I want something bigger for the fire button. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks for the ideas. I've been going through Mouser for days now. I guess I'm just going to have to make the mod bigger or use a tactile button.

What enclosure are you using and what type of mod are you making? Just wondering how much room you have to work with

I'm making it out of wood (or attempting to) and right now I've got my dimensions at 43wx83hx28d. It's going to be tight but I'm going to measure all of the wires before soldering so that they take up minimum space.

you could just shim the switch. I ran in the the same problem with my wood BF. So I just cut a piece of bras to go behind the switch to bring out a bit.

Thanks for the idea - I think I might have found something that will just barely fit if I rearrange everything. It's a huge button, but short enough that I'll still have space for everything else if I'm careful!

I've been struggling myself to find short buttons for box mods, so much so on my next build I am making my own SS button with a tactile button behind it.

I wish I had the skills to do that! If I knew anything about metal working I could make my own and eliminate the huge button...

I've tried googling tactile switch caps, tactile switch covers, and tactile switch actuator with limited success. I can find some caps, but they're usually plastic and too short to make it through the 4mm required.

There is so many switches on mouser and digikey that fit your description. I'm not gonna lie though those sites have so many items it's can be a real anxiety attack trying to find something

Looks like the PV1 button is only rated 2 amps.. Good for down to a 1.5 ohm coil.. Doubt that's what the guy wants.

There seem to be very few switches available at the size and rating required by box Modders hence leading to the more widespread use of Mosfets to reduce the switch load and allow use of switches like the PV1. This then makes the box "Unregulated" rather than fully mechanical.

I'm actually working on a DNA box mod, and according to the data sheet the chip moderates amperage. That's actually the one I found - by going directly to the manufacturer and seeing where their authorized dealers were. I found what I was looking for on Mouser.

they have alot, and I seen some that are surface mount that would only require two small holes for the wire. guessing you would epoxy the switch to the mod?

Probably... I'm researching pcb making in hopes that I can learn it so that I can piggy back the dna 30 then all I would need would be some sort of actuator to push the buttons on the circuit board...
