No. Yes. Maybe. [shrug] That's one of those that is kinda a personal relationship betwixt you and your tastebuds. You'll need to ask them that question repeatedly over some period of time before you figure-out the answer. No other answer you get from anyone other than your tastebuds will have any validity what-so-ever.

Ok three weeks into vaping and I love it but I just had a real off day when it came to taste. Everything I love to vape just tasted off today. I know my taste buds are changing but could it be something more like me getting over the initial thrill (I sure hope not). Also if it's my tastebuds will I need to find a new flavor?

They are at my house, using up my 555, want them to come home?:vapor:

On a serious note, if you are only 3 weeks in, you will have days/weeks like this until things get back to normal in your good ol' mouth. You may have days where you have ultra-taste, and days when you taste, well, nothing. Hang in there!!!!!:2c:

I'm experiencing this right now, although it has improved somewhat. I'm convinced it's related to the drying effects of PG in the nasal passages. Even if you think you are exhaling through the mouth only, some vapor will still get up into the nasal cavities. The sinuses need moisture to do their job effectively like being able to smell the wonderful vape additives. And since the taste sense depends heavily on the smell sense, flavors become muted or worse - changed (and not for the better).

I did a test yesterday and made myself sneeze. Sneezing usually gets me to produce some type of fluid/semi-fluid in my sinuses. I blew my nose and vaped about 30 seconds later. I wasn't surprised when the pomegranate actually tasted pretty darn good instead of the weirdness when I first cracked open the bottle last week. Since I don't have a sauna out by the pool or a pool for that matter, I've dusted off the heated humidifier and will proceed to spend a good 20 minutes directly inhaling moist heat. I'm hoping regular use will give me the results I want.

I should add that when I smoked analogs, I exhaled through my nose all the time. Also, I wear a CPAP mask for sleeping which forces air through my nose at a high rate of speed to keep my throat from closing. Even though I have heat and moisture added to it, the fact that it is like a reverse vacuum cleaner means that there is probably some drying out going on when I sleep. So, basically, I am at a disadvantage already. :(

There are definitely days like this. I had my worst ones around the 3-4 week mark when I literally couldn't taste any of the flavors I had. It's a pretty sickening feeling at first, but I woke up two days later and taste was back better than ever. I'm guessing that it's just one of those "things that happens" with vaping.

ElectraGlide, I had wondered about something like that. The last time my taste was off I felt sluggish and dry mouth, nose, and eyes. Today I feel the same way. I've been trying to drink more but its hard playing catch up. On top of that I live in the desert (dry heat). I was actually so grossed out by the taste of my coconut I dumped it out (my son said it smelled funny too though). I guess that was a bit impulsive but after I tried to vape it everything tasted like it till I got rid of it.

I've had 3 different days where this happened during the 3 & 1/2+ months I've been vaping. I find that if I brush my teeth and do a good bit of gargling it helps a lot.

Are you trying to say my breath stinks lol. I have tried brushing & gargling to no avail. I do think dryness may have something to do with it. It's almost like the flavors that I've been vaping for the last 3wks are just too much for me.

Thanks everyone for all the support. There are a lot of great people here. It's kinda like a segregate family here. Thanks for taking in the redheaded step child .

Btw I have no intention of giving up. I'm just trying to determine if I need to make adjustments in my juice. Maybe even dilute the flavor some with some PG. I'm mostly having problems with my Ms T juices (not saying they're bad, I'm sure it’s just me).

Thanks for the info! I hit the search button, because this is happening to me too. Just can't seem to taste my flavors, yet food and such is normal tasting. It is like a million degrees right now, so might be dry sinus, though with my constant allergies that is a rare thing for me! I've been vaping for about 2 weeks now, seems longer. Don't ever want to go back either.

I'm so glad I found this as I was beginning to think I was losing my mind. I've just spent well over another 100 bucks stocking up on my favorite juices and just a few days ago I woke up to take a pull off of my morning vape and it tasted like I was chewing on cardboard. I got absolutely nothing in terms of flavor. Doesn't matter what flavor I chose either. Now I know the day before this I was just running around telling my wife how much I love this one blueberry juice and then the next day....nothing! I was hoping that nothing was out of the ordinary, and am also hoping that my tastebuds come back to life soon :D

I'm almost wondering if it is the PG that is drying me out too much?!? I've only ever vaped PG liquids and have done so for over 4 months straight now...maybe I'll try some VG and see what happens!

I have noticied this and I live in NY. Hot and humid here, if your sinus's are dried out even your ad/ed vape will taste like crap. I have noticed that due to the fact I have been vaping for 3 months, and I started in the winter. Now that it is warm out and we are all dried up we will not taste the same flavors when we are dehydrated. keep yourself hydrated because the PG will dry you out.
