Where do you get atty connectors?

Hi All:

I'm a bit of a klutz, and this may well not work. But I thought I might try my had at building a mod. Looks like I can pick up most of the stuff at Radio Shack. But where do you find the threaded connector (the piece you screw an atty into)? I thought I would go with the 510 thread pattern. Thanks,

The "sealed" ones help keep the juice out of the mod as well.

Listen to CapeCAD, I started out with the ones from MadVapes and never had a problem. Switched to the ones from Good Prophets and have had to replace all of them but two and those will come back to me to I imagine. The insulators are inferior so they short out eventually. Rob is one of the good guys but the 99 cent connectors, not so good. I have switched back to the $1.99 ones, believe me it's worth it.........

Thanks for all the good advice, folks! It looks like MadVapes is out of the pre-wired 510 battery connectors, so I have asked their site to inform me when they are re-stocked. Being not only new to mods, but new to soldering, I figure I should wait for the pre-wired connectors to come back in.

Too bad you don't like to solder. It's not that hard to do. As for connectors I've found that the extra metal in an 801 to 510 adapter to be pretty strong. Much more than a little brass battery connector. I also like to use the better insulator robbed from a 808D-1 carto (white not clear insulator).

Ditto on the madvapes... that's what I use, and have had not problems yet out of the three mods I built. bought the presoldered one at first, but have grown to like doing it myself....

I need hard-metal connectors. The threads on the brass ones wear out too fast for me since I remove and replace my cartomizers for filling a lot. The expensive ones with the nuts MadVapes sells appear to be plated soft steel which is a lot better than brass at least.

I tried the cheapo $2 MadVapes ones without the nuts and they're just horrible. The threads are way loose. My cartomizers could almost pull out of them. The expensive ones with the nuts have better threads, but still kind of loose.

What I really want is a stainless connector with a nut and nice tight atomizer threads. Too much to hope for I guess. Maybe I should hit up a machinist to make some for me.
