I used to go outside to a smoking area several times a day to smoke an analog. I have been vaping for about a week now and find that I no longer really like to go outside with the rest of the smokers. I also don't seem to get the same performance outside as I do inside. At home I love the fact that I can now "smoke" inside, but work is a different story. I don't really relish the confrontation that will probably arise from vaping inside.

Just wondering if anyone else has had the same feeling.

After 25 years of freedom to smoke just about anywhere Las Vegas banned smoking in almost all public places. Smoking at work became an ordeal. Depending on where I was working it was 5 - 15 minutes each way to the smoking area. Now as long as I am not in a public area with customers present I can vape anywhere.

My solution was to give a unit to my immediate supervisor and to the director.
Both smokers who now vape everywhere with me.

In the last three months we have quite a growing circle of VapePires. I can't reveal the exact location as we are not strong enough to win the battle with the VapePire hunters.

I work nights in a petrol station (US: "gas station",) and since I'm alone, I just vape in the back (next to the 'no smoking' sign, and under the industrial strength smoke detector,) out of sight of the customers - just don't want to have that conversation with every customer who comes in, though I've shown a few regulars (and maybe even converted a few.)

The boss would probably be a tw*t if I vaped 'on camera', so I use a modicum of common sense and keep it away from the counter (and the CCTV.)

i work with the public in a financial office, and i still do it at my desk.

shhhhhh!!! ;)

i'm not sure if anyone's ever seen that episode of Friends when Chandler is secretly smoking at his desk? Kind of like that.

I bend down to go into my drawers, draw, and exhale back into the drawer or over my shoulder, lol. Nobody has seen me, that i know of.

On my breaks I just go to the breakroom. I don't go outside anymore because all the guys from the restaurant next door smoke out there and they're a little rambunctious for my tastes.

I'm waiting on my first ecig and mentioned to my employers HR dept that I would like to enjoy my ecig inside. It scared the crap out of them!! They have a smoking policy and a smokeless tobacco policy but nothing on the ecigs. I work for a large paper company and HR told me that they would have to do some "research" before giving me a response. I told them that it was being sold/used here in Florida. No laws being broken so why can't I use it outside of our designated smoking areas.

Waiting for their response :)

My cube is in a corner by a wall and passersby don't really see me. I vape in my cube all the time. One time I was in a conference room where my e-cig was charging through my laptop. Some one asked what it was and I showed him. There was one guy that freaked out saying that nicotine is still in the air and that I was passing it around for everyone to breath. Because of him, I don't like the attention at work and hide my vapor activities from public view.

That's another reason why I don't like people seeing me vaping. I want to be able to vape in the confines of my cube. If people saw me and complained, they'd go to HR and some kind of rule would be made against it and I'd have to go outside.

Good luck on their response. Let us know how it goes.

That is precisely why I am hesitant to Vape at the office. I can just imagine the headaches, nausea, rashes, severed limbs, etc. that would be attributed to it.
