The lights are off in my office, the only way to see is from the plethora of TV screens stacked neatly in front of me. The sound of a fan roars next to me, pushing around hot air produced by the many small TV monitors.

There I am. Spinning cameras. Watching you shop for your brand name merchandise.

As I watch the people, I pick up my Vapor King. As I draw on it, the blue tip emits an eery glow that adds to the confusion of limited light bouncing around me.
My camera pans to a person wearing a large jacket, my trained eye picks up on the small hand movements he's making as he attempts to remove security tags from cologne bottles he has stacked up in a quite area of the store.

I exhale my wondeful vapor. It swirles around my face, and almost blocks my view of the monitor. The mist clears just in time to see him conceal the cologne in his jacket pocket. Another drag. Another bottle. My heart races. More blue light. Another bottle. Another drag. My office is heavy with fog now. He's getting ready to leave the store. 8 bottles of colgne line the inside of his jacket. Hundreds of dollars about to walk out. Another drag.

Out I go to make the arrest. I bring him back to the office. And I vape while I fill out the paper work, and wait for the Police.

Just my day at work:D

My best,
-VP

Since I am the "boss" where I work (I am the Bank Manager) I wanted to be very careful so it did not seem that I was imposing my behavior on my staff without their input. They all know I smoked (I went outside to do it). SO we I began looking into ecigs, I shared that information with them before I even got my first one. As soon as I got it, I demonstrated it for them. I asked each person if they could smell anything of if the vapor irritated them.

Getting a positive response from everyone, I now vape in my office, but I do not do it in the lobby or behind the teller line, more from a customer perspective than anything else. My staff is very happy that I quit and all is well.................

I work alone at night, so I can vape back here in the office where I'm out of sight of customers, and I do sometimes.

But I also find that I'm kind of attached to the ritual of going outside when I'm at work (not at home, though) so I will occasionally go outside to vape.

I did have a guest get mad at me the other day (I work in a hotel) and it was pretty funny. He asked me if I had a cigarette, and I honestly told him no, because I didn't. Then later he walked by while I was outside puffing on my M401 and got all bent out of shape and said I'd lied to him. Then I showed him that it was not, in fact, a cigarette and he cooled down. He thought I was being stingy on him!

@alisonation: I find that funny. I've worked in restaurants and hotels for years, and until 2 months ago was the "go-to" guy in my restaurant when customers were looking for a cig in the bar. They've finally stopped asking me.

What's even more funny is that a guest actually called you a liar, as if you have some kind of obligation to fork over one even if you did have it. I've worked with the public for years, and I've actually had people asking me for things, etc. when I'm coming in, leaving, etc. and you just scratch your head wondering if folks think that just because they patronize your establishment, you're their own little private servant or something even when it's not a part of your business. I used to get ticked, now it's just kind of funny.

Cute story though. New convert maybe?

I just ordered my first e-cig, mainly because I am working over nights at a fast food joint and we cant go outside from 10pm - 5am so I havent been able to take a smoke break at work for weeks. there are a few people there that actually go into the bathrooms overnight to smoke and i hate having to run to the bathroom and then smelling it and dieing for a cigarette. (and i am not a big enough jerk to light up in the bathroom of a resteraunt) so hopefully my Janty Mini Fogger will get here soon so I can start satisfying those cravings!

I work the late shift as the only IT Helpdesk agent after 5pm. The rest of the office is empty so that half of my day is vaping indoors. During the day though, I keep it outside, even though some of the employees have suggested I stay in. It comes down to not imposing on my co-workers based on my comfort level. If they were to react negatively to my vaping indoors, it would be a failure on my part to consider the impact to the company. The few who have seen me do it indoors usually ask about it, and being techie types, they usually find it fascinating. Considering most of my company are the hippyish health nut types, I've actually managed to get a lot of the non-smokers to be actively involved in supporting vaping as an alternative. It helps that being in a tech firm basically guarantees that your co-workers will be capable of doing intelligent and thorough research on the net :).

I don't go outside near as much now but I still do occasionally. I have an employee who used to complain that even though we were all going outside to smoke we were bringing the stench back in with us. I vape at my desk, about 12 feet from her and she has never said a thing about it. My boss is now thinking about converting.
