Hi there new vaper. Welcome to ECF. I'm not aware of any laws so far against exhaling water vapor. As a vaper, you will get curious looks if you flaunt it and blow smoke when people are looking. If you want to go have a cocktail and vape you can ask your waiter or management if you can vape in there.

I vape while grocery shopping, and no one is ever looking so aren't even aware that I'm vaping. If you were smoking an analog, you would get lot of looks because of the stinky smell, and that is definitely against the law in certain cities and/or states. You can always stealth vape. I've vaped in the library I frequent, in WalMart, grocery stores, about any store. The only place I wouldn't vape is in a hospital. I'm pretty low-key, I don't flaunt and I don't want to be interrogated. If you're asking if you'll get a citation for it, the answer is no. Just be super courteous, and you'll never have a problem.

Definitely easier to keep it on the down low, especially when not in the mood to play the e-cig evangelist :)

That being said, if I wasn't able to vape everywhere I used to smoke, there wouldnt be much point, so I vape at restaurants, pubs, work, etc.

The bartenders at my local pub had no problem with me vaping in the no-smoking section once I explained what I was doing.

I have heard stories of people using them even in airplane toilets, since there is no open flame or smoke to set off the detectors. Never tried this myself.

Just started vaping this month. Bought a Xhale02 starter kit at the local 7-11 while a was waiting for my blu to get here. Sence I've started I have vaped in the 7-11, the local bars, walmart, starbucks, and my personal favorate. the local city council meeting. I had more people ask what it was and where they could get one in that meeting than i have sence I started.

i vape just about everywhere except in or near the elementary school where my kid goes to school

Considering this is California and very anti smoking i am surprised by the very few comments i receive.

i don't flaunt it but after a meal at a restaurant i take a few puffs, i vape at work no prob, at home, theaters, occasionally on public transit but there again i do let the vapor sort of ease out and i don't flaunt it.

My only suggestion is to be polite. If you are in a place that is normally no smoking allowed then ask someone with the authority to give permission before you vape. Just don't make a scene about vaping. Don't give the public and the politicians any more ammo to try and ban our PV's.

If someone asks you to stop even after you have politely told them that you are not smoking then comply and don't be ugly about it.

Basically, be an ambassador for the good of the vaping community.

Would never vape in an elementary school hallway like another poster stated. I can see a kid saying how cool that blue light looks and wanting one because its not really smoking ma, right?
Don't be the Joe camel of vaping.

avoid negative attention
yeah we are not doing anything wrong (legally) but it only takes a few ignorant people that have nothing better to do then to make it a point to complain and our vaping is gone
until the public becomes more aware and our PV's are not at risk of being illegal then keep the peace. vape where you smoke, ask permission, dont be arrogant about it, or just keep it stealthy :2c:

You shouldn't have a problem at the malls. They sell "Smoking Everwhere's" (or whatever that line is) in most malls that I've been in. They typically have a couple people flaunting them to get interest, and make sales.

I've actually vaped in the bars, at a few airports. The key is 'Just Ask'.

The other thing that I try to do is; make sure that no one has to walk through my vape. In a grocery store, I don’t vape around the produce aisle, or anywhere there is open food. Even I don’t want to see something come out of someone’s mouth and potentially settle on something that I’m going to eat.
