I've been teaching incoming graduate students at the beach. Think of it as science camp for big kids. (though some of them say it is a bit closer to boot camp than science camp)
it's an introductory neurobiology class for incoming graduate students. We bring a truckload of equipment down to the island, throw the students into very old concrete dorms, make them (and us) eat cafeteria food. They have to sit through two hours of lecture 6 days a week for 2 1/2 weeks, then go to the "lab" (all the equipment that we bring and set up) every afternoon and do experiments. They have to take a couple of exams and write lab reports. We play in the evening. No one really sleeps much.
