FreeFire,

1. Once you find one you like just click on it and it should take you to the website that hosts it.
2. When you get to the site, go to where you create your banner if it does not drop you there.
3. Fill in your information and click "create" or whatever word they use. You will be taken to another page where you will see what is called "BB Code". You will also see HTML code. Do not use the HTML Code. You'll be using the BB.
4. Open another instance of your browser leaving the other browser open at the BB Code.
5. Come here to ECF.
6. Go to the settings link at the top right of any forum page.
7. Once you get to the settings for your account, on the left side you'll see "edit signature".
8. Go back to the other browser that you have open.
9. Copy the BB Code to your clipboard. You can either select all the BB Code text and hit the Control (ctrl) and C keys on your keyboard or select all the BB Code, right click a portion of the code that is highlighted and select to copy it.
10. Go back to the browser that is at your account settings.
11. On the right side you'll see an area where you can type. Paste all of the BB Code into that area.
12. Go to the bottom right of that area and click "preview sig". That will allow you to view it to see if it looks correct.
13. If all is well then go back to the bottom and click "save sig."
14. Go back to the forum and look at a thread that you have posted a reply in and see if your signature is there and looks correct.

Does anyone know of one that will let you upload your own image and still put the code on it?

The "quit" banners are created using PHP. In order to create the code necessary, it must be hosted by a server that has PHP installed on it. In the case of ECF, you'd have to be allowed by the creator of the code here to use your own image. The other option would be to host the PHP code yourself on your ISPs (internet service provider) server in your private web space if they offer it. Then, using a PHP editor such as PHP Nuke you could specify which image you'd like it to use for display.
