Where to start?

Hello all,

I'm new to the forum, been a smoker for 13ish years, usually smoke Gold Leaf/Amber Leaf tobbaco, or Malboro's if I have loads on/rainy day. Who wants to roll up in the rain eh.

Anyways, there are several reasons I want to give ecigs a chance. Main one being the other half's dad died of lung cancer. I've tried to quit in the past with without much luck. So I'm turning to ecigs.

But I'm looking for a nice tidy solution like the Volcano ones I came across the other day with their nice cig packet with built in charging batt + spares.

I understand that most ecigs won't last the day, either for battery or juice reasons. Is it a quick job to replenish the juice? I smoke about 20 a day.

I like my smokes to be quite smokey, you know where it sorta hits the back of your throat.

So where should I start looking? I'm in the UK btw, but can have stuff shipped over via mates I guess.

You are on the right track . the tornado will work , any EGO clone , such as the Riva , from liberty Flights, will work . You say , you like them smokey ???Lots of throat hit ? Juices with more pg , tend to have more flavor and throat hit , vg , tends to have more vapor (smoke like ) but less flavor . And depending on how many cigs per day you were smoking , will determine what nicotine level , to start with . Say , if you smoked 2 packs a day , you might need 36 mg. to start , that's considered , very high . or like me , I started out with 24mg. and a 70/30 mix the 30 % being the vg content . As long as you get your satisfaction , of vapor and Throat hit , with whatever e-cig you buy . you will immediately start smoking less " analogs" as we call them . You might not ever smoke another one . good luck , and welcome to the forums .

well you can look at the tank models like the Ego-t and others, these are all some people will ever need. Others like myself soon get sick of recharging and refilling( i also had leaking problems) and move on to Mods. I started with and Ego-t and within 2 weeks ordered a REO Mini and then a week later a REO Grand. The REO Grand will Last me all day on a single battery and bottle of juice. There are several other bottom feeders that will give you the same performance since they all use the same Batteries and Atomizers. The reason i choose the REOs was it is 100% Mechanical and made out of machined aluminum so it should last for a very long time.

It may take you a while to find the right solution thats fits your needs and vaping habits. I would suggest buying as small of a starter kit for any of the "Cigarette" Style Kits until you know if it will work for you. You do not want to get stuck with 5 spare batteries, car chargers, and Whatnot for something you will not use after two weeks. Although any of the 510 style batteries are fairly universal and can be used with just about every Atomizer or cartomizer out there with at most using a small adaptor.

Good Luck And Welcome T o The ECF

Welcome and congrats on making a very important decision.

From my experience, and I vape a lot (5-8 ml a day) an 1100 mah battery lasts me from about 8 a.m. to roughly 12:30 a.m. and most kits come with two batteries so I always have a spare handy.

As you can see, I don't sleep much, and usually take my last vape around 2 a.m. I know a lot of people on the forums love cartomizers, but I go through too many in a day. I prefer a 306 (LR) drip tip and just drip in juice as I need it. Carry a bottle in your pocket with your PV and have a spare battery accessible (if applicable) and you'll do fine all day!

Best of luck, and Groovy Vaping to you!

Welcome to ECF! I think you'll find we are a helpful and supportive bunch here. I think you'll also find vaping to be a personal adventure. So long as you keep an open mind, ask questions and aren't opposed to experimenting with different hardware and juice you might even find it fun! I sure did!

The Tornado is a good choice for a heavy smoker. It's a rebranded eGo battery which has a long battery life, so you should be able to get at least 6 hours before it needs a recharge. It's an easy kit to start with and I think you'll enjoy it.

Welcome to ECf and the never boring world of vaping

The Tornado is an e-cig from Totally Wicked brand, based in the UK. It's mostly a rebranded eGo. Same hardware, same manufacturer, different branding. For a newbie, the Tornado-T or eGo-T is a nice starting point, not much hassle and big enough battery to last a few hours.

PG and VG are components of the e-liquid you'll soon engulf. Mouse over the underlined words and you'll get the complete name. Keeping it simple, PG gives throat hit (TH) and respects flavor but gives no vapor and VG has no TH and mutes flavor, but gives vapor. You'll have to find the balance that works for you, though a starting point would be around 70/30 or 80/20 PG/VG ratios.

With a tank system like the Tornado-T or eGo-T you could probably spend half a day with a full tank, and filling them is really easy and without accessories, you have really good videos at the Totally Wicked website.

So having done a bit more research I'm interested in the Volcano Magma Kit (Drip tip + Tank) or the eGO Tank kit.

I the guess the next few questions are due, how long do the atomisers last? How many ml of ejuice is equivelent to a packet of cigs and are all ejuices interchangeable? For instance once the juices from the Magma runs out, can I use some from Totally Wicked?

Personally, I'd start with an ego. Get used to the cart/atty, cartomizers and dripping. At some later point, try the tanks.

Everyone doesn't have the same experience with tanks. Maybe it's quality control, maybe it's the juice, maybe it's the way people vape. But everyone doesn't have an excellent experience with tanks. I'd say they're better for someone that's been vaping and knows about cleaning methods and what to look for if you're having an issue.

If you do decide on the tank system, most definitely order some backup cartomizers in case you have issues with your tank.

You can purchase juice from pretty much anywhere and refill your tank/cart/carto. Most people go though 3 to 5 ml of juice a day. I'd have 30 on hand until you can determine your usage. I did use more juice with the tanks than cartos.
