Actually we brought them home to bbq, but don't think that is happening tonight, tired. We indulged on some gooooood food this weekend, so it's back to veggies for a while. I haven't brought trout in whole foods or other store since we just wait to go fishing for it. $12.00 a pound, you freakin serious?! ouch....if we buy fish, it's usually salmon or swordfish.

I love panfrying rainbow trout with organic cornmeal and cajun seasonings. Yum! Whole Foods usually only carries rainbow trout about four times a year (for a week each time). It's so expensive, but we always buy it when they have it. Salmon is very expensive here too! The cheapest fish we can get is talapia. It's usually on sale for $3.99 a pound.

Talapia, Ah the poor man's fish....LOL Actually very tasty stuff...we have several ways to make it that are enjoyable. But I am jealous of the trout! I break down and spend the money for trout or Cod now and then...but wow is that painful!! Lots of bucks for a 15-20 minute meal. But Very Yummy!! :) Never gets cold enough for trout to do well where I live...Dang it!

BTW Very beautiful place cold or not!

SC - That's our problem. It's hot in Souteast Florida, so rainbow trout is shipped to our area. Good thing though is that Whole Foods' rainbow trout is fresh and not previously frozen.

I love Talapia. It tastes good baked, broiled, or pan fried. That reminds me, I've not made it in quite some time. I really should look through my freezer!

I forgot to mention that red snapper thrives in our area (Intracoastal water and the ocean). We buy it quite a bit, but it's way overpriced (usually $8.99 a pound). But, we buy it anyway. We also buy rock shrimp a lot, but wait for sales. I love rock shrimp sauteed in white wine, butter, and garlic. Tastes great with angel hair pasta.

Aw SecondBreath, with fried catfish, fried bass and a crawfish boil every once in a while, what do we need with all that high priced, fancy fish? All we have to do is go to the river or a local lake.

And my wife won't let me eat that pasta.

I'm on a diet.

Pasta is not bad for you! We use Debohl's brand; it's made from artichoke flour. Although I have no idea how flour can be obtained from artichokes.

Starchy is a word (at least to me it is). Went to whole foods today, and I didn't see that brand, and couldn't find artichoke flour, but it was a quick check run thru so I could have missed it. I was good and bypassed the dessert/ice cream, tempting, but I have enough fruits rights now (lots of cherries) and that is it for sweet stuff right now.

Ok, that brand I have seen at whole foods, haven't tried that one yet, I don't think? I have ancient harvest brand and good old barilla stash in the shed (that is still emergency back up).
That could be because I spelled the brand wrong. It's spelled DeBoles. Here's the link: DeBoles Organic and All-Natural Pastas . You can do a search by zip code to see who sells it near you. We buy the pastas in their organic line.

Cherries? Yum!

I just noticed that Deboles has two organic lines. We only buy the one made from artichoke flour. Let me know how you like it after you try it!

Only after you tell me how you liked that ice cream brand, did you get it? Wasn't it the coconut bliss?

Coconut Bliss is excellent! I forgot to tell you that we've bought a few flavors. So far, we've tried Vanilla Island, Dark Chocolate, and Naked Coconut. There's a mint flavor with dark chocolate that I want to try too (forgot the name of the flavor).
