I don't think so, what can happen is that if the lightning is too close, it will cause a spike in the electric current and that can damage your computer, if you don't have a circuit breaker switch, to shut off the power.

I have a ham friend who is also an electrician. He set me up with a GFI (ground fault interrupter) circuit breaker for this room. It is very sensitive to electical spikes and will "trip" automatically and shut off the power to this room, if there is even a small spike.
