More like a "babble thread," isn't it?

I have a desktop computer. I am a touch typist and I want a full-size keyboard. The computer stays in one place. As for the mouse & keyboard, it's a lot harder to lose something that is tethered to the keyboard. Plus they don't have batteries that need changing. I change enough batteries as it is.

Babble does that mean we are babblers....LOL

I beg your pardon!! I do NOT babble! Everbody here has understood everthing I have ever said!!!

I sure have :)

Surf was just being smart and getting away from the disagreements on some of the other threads. To better understand what is going on, read this thread.

I was reading that earlier today.

Yes. Orifice 2007 and 2010 throw a lot of folks. 2003 was just fine and functional!

Hi Surf!

We had, as I did on my old desktop, 2003 which was so much more user friendly. Outlook is a nightmare and word is a piece of junk. Now you have to find everything you used to use the most of and put it up top so you have a whole slew of buttons that are the size of a pin head at the top of the screen.

Oh dear. I don't want to hear that. I haven't seen the newest MS Office. When the last version came out, I spent hours trying to figure out where they had hidden the "don't print the gridlines" box.

I've got MS Office for the Mac. Word stinks. You know how, on the PC, if you scroll too fast the same line covers the whole screen? On the Mac, it collapses the text so you have a paragraph from page 5 followed by page 19. And it doesn't look glitchy. It looks like you lost 14 pages of text. (On the plus side, Excel for the Mac never does the runaway thing where it decides you either want to highlight 3 rows or 2,147 rows. Nothing in between.)

I know where that is :):) Yes that runaway thing is so annoying!!!! You won't like it....

OMG Jane!!! I made some karaoke sheets for a friend that bought some discs and I put everything on Excel so he could put it into folders. I spent literally hours on it. And like you said, I would try to highlight 300 rows and it would zip by so fast I would have to scroll back up to find where I wanted to be. It would be a back and forth game just to find it!! LOL

I hate it when you get stuck with a forced downgrade... Thats what Vista was. In some cases you couldn't find a particular PC or laptop from Dell that still came with XP, so you were forced to go with Vista. For the Home market, this happened pretty quickly. For the business market, XP died slowly thank goodness.

I hate how they dont ship with recovery CD's/DVD's anymore. You have to burn your own. On the business side, you can get the DVD for $3 but you have to remember to check the box when you order it.

I have started using my shift key and page down....less frustrating than zipping up and down.
