Actually I have to go through mine twice a year to make room.
Once before my daughter & family come to visit and right before Xmas cookie dough making time.
My neighbors love me. I box it up and take it to them---they got four kids so it don't go to waste.

i never keep any thing for more than 24 hours , if it is uncooked i could keep it for a week
I found some ham at the bottom of the freezer on day. I have no idea how old it was, we only have a good ham about every 6 months and the last time we had it there wasn't any left....it got trashed.
I routinely find stuff in there that is "questionable". Best laid plans. It looked good when I got it at Costco.... And then its all frozen ice crystals by the time I want to cook it.
I have some stuff like that....LOL
I am really bad about defrosting and using leftovers.... Just seems like they disappear in the freezer.... Months later its like... what is that?
