Nowwwwww I know why you watch that show...all the time, err...great storyline.
Great lead character. Generally great scripts (with some notable exceptions.) Brilliant lead actor.

"Optimistic" would be a stretch  He's all about puzzles and the 'game' of it, but not about 'the patient' so to speak. That's the meaning of this passage:

Rebecca: Am I ever gonna meet Dr. House?
Dr. Wilson: Well, you might run into him at the movies or on the bus.
Rebecca: Is he a good man?
Dr. Wilson: He's a good doctor.
Rebecca: Can you be one without the other? Don't you have to care about people?
Dr. Wilson: Caring is a good motivator. He's found something else.

The 'something else' is the puzzle. Although for me and I think, his character... the 'caring' is doing the job right - not the outward drama that people show to make someone else think they 'care'. In that sense, I think he 'cares' more than those who think they do or think that they should, but don't really. ;) Much more....but you'd really have to see a few shows... and I'm off to get my new glasses - my eyes improved! How can that happen?? BBL.
Aw. You don't see the pilot quoted that often any longer.

I've been "doc_on_duty" since the end of S5. The previous one got interested in Anime and stopped mid-S4.

Now I shall try to read the last 5 pages of posts while waiting for that brilliant lead actor to be on Craig Ferguson in half an hour.

ETA: The two episodes in which Ali was a minor plot-B character was Informed Consent and Lines in the Sand in S3. (Interestingly, the actress who played Ali, Leighton Meister, is Hugh Laurie's love interest in a movie that should be out this year -- The Oranges.)

Happy Friday the 13th! I had my kidney removed on Friday the 13th and didn't have to have any chemo, and is was basically a 3 pound cancerous tumor!! And been fine for the last 3.5 years since. You can't tell me that Friday the 13th is a bad day. :)

Oh, and NO chocolate should EVER touch a fresh cherry. What a way to ruin good chocolate!!

Great resource! I've been grabbing most quotes from tv.com and then other places - when I remember partials - googled... etc. Is S4 incomplete because of the abandonment?
