Sorry dear. Kubuntu is an operating system (like Windows, only free). It is a variant of Linux. VMWare Server is virtualization software which allows you to run more than one operating system on the same hardware at the same time. Thus I can have Kubuntu running concurrently with Windows. Kubuntu comes with OpenOffice, which I would like to try again and I am curious about how both Kubuntu and Openoffice have matured.

Oh. I don't have to Norie. OO installs well on windows. This is a way to try both OpenOffice and Kubuntu without polluting my windows installation.
