Let's wait for Z, CES and Fudgey to weigh in too. They have a critical vote, as does Ralph, but not sure if he will be here to vote. If ya'll think of someone else let us know. Today it seems to be running surprisingly fast but usually it's slower n' all get out!

Happy happy 4th everyone and thanks Jerry for agreeing to do this for us if it goes ahead. :)

Sometimes I have trouble getting into the j0ker thread and sometimes like today, I don't have any problems. I'm not so sure that the problem lies exclusively with the size of this thread. There may be other forum factors involved, like how busy the forum is and perhaps problems with the servers.

A new thread could end up being the same as the old one. That's why I don't want to rush into this. Take your time, think about it, when the thread is slow, compare the speed of it with other smaller threads. We want to be sure that a part 2 is the right way to go.

This has been my contention all along - it's the social buttons not the thread length that causes the problems we're having. There were no lags in j0kers or other long threads before that (unless it was the servers being taxed by no. of people online and when they added servers it went away... for a while anyway) but this is something different. I've timed out on birthday threads which aren't that long ;) Still, it doesn't matter to me - I'm not against it.

Jerry , the beach is on the same server as the j0kers and it has a better loading time

I know, Lis. I was just thinking about that, even when the j0ker thread is slow, the beach is a lot faster. Still though, I don't want to rush into this. Once it's done, there is no turning back.

there is a turning back it the thread close is done by the original poster request, it might even serve as a test , talk to Sarge or J0ker and ask for an opinion
