I'm drawing up the schematic right now. :) 2 versions... one with a built in mic to pick up ambient sound, the other with a line-in plug so you can hook up your music source directly. (can't find the parts to put both into the same box.)

I ordered parts today. lots and lots of parts.

I can't wait til you get them ready to sell....put my name on the waiting list ok :)

Has this thread broke the record with the number of post. I just got a private message asking me if I wanted to be the 100K. Well of course I want to be. Will be following this thread closely.

She had 2 other posts, elsewhere, later yesterday morning. Since then, nothing. :(

's why I'm going full-bore with the 'Cube. Hoping they sell well enough to earn me some pocket money. :)

That sounds like an excellent plan!

I want one too!

I just remembered something I forgot to attend to. BBI10

You got it!

I'm expecting to offer 5 models. :) I'll have to do a quicky video when I get them put together!

I can't wait....to cool!!!

Deej, some years ago I built an SSTV (slow scan television) receiver/transmitter box, from plans I had received from a fellow ham. I just walked into the local Radio Shack and got everything that I needed, including the IC chip.

Never got around to slow-scan! I can't recall all the fun stuff I slapped together... weekends in the Shack were great!

Haven't played with electronics in ages! Amazes me how fast it's coming back to me!

Drawing the schematics... laying out the circuit board... ordered PCB fabrication equipment, too!

Wheeeee!!!!

Gonna make your own circuit boards too ?? I did it the old fashioned way, used a breadboard and ran wires underneath it.

Yeah, gotta do circuit boards. I don't have a lot of space... gotta leave it fairly open so the light can fill out the panels.

I breadboard the circuit first, though, to make sure my schematic's good. The schematic program links to a PCB layout program to guide you in making all the right connections. Better than a video game!

the first 5 or 6 will be great fun!

then it'll become a job!

At least there's the customization aspect to break the tedium. You gotta choose 3 of 6 colors... Red, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Green and Violet. :)

(sorry... nobody makes Indigo LEDs... yet)

Is it going to run on a pair of 1.5 volt batteries, connected in series ???

That makes sense, Deej. Building the prototype on a breadboard, makes it easier to make changes, as opposed to the circuit board.

Who said we were dorks and nerds ???? LOL

I love breadboarding first. Get to play with the schematic... try different configurations... impress the neighbors...
