In a recent episode of House (Larger Than Life), there were four monkey figurines in House's office. (I'll see if I can find a screencap later.) It turns out that in China and some other Asian countries, there is also a "do no evil" monkey.:p

I am declaring victory in the War of the Rodents. I haven't seen one in about 10 days and, more important, when I open closets, look in corner or under things, there is no new evidence that there are any.

There's still a ton of post-mouse cleaning to do including rug shampooing (the couch will have to wait -- moving it 817 times has already taken a toll on my back) and I'm not telling my super because I still want him to open up my radiator so we can search for hole, but for the first time in 3 months, I don't feel tense and depressed about those buggers.

Lis, I think you need to borrow Ralph's resident smart ... badge for a bit.
Thanks Jerry, you are too kind & you are just full of doo doo.
I think I need to go do what Ralph did, just get out and tie one on. I did sit at my desk, order a small pile of liquid, some cartos and something really odd, some attys....trying out some new juice, figured atty/drip would be a good way to figure out what I liked best.

JJ, what's for dinner?

Yay! on the rodent victory Poeia. I am loosing. Saw one last night in my kitchen, know there a ton more. I can hear them in the walls. Gonna have to just poison the crap out of them, but waiting till I can open the windows cause blown up from tom cat dead mouse smell is ickey.

I think I might live trap a few and put them in a cage. I could be real evil and use them as a lure, setting a mouse trap on the other side every night, something tells me that would be bad karma though. They must die but I still think they are really cute so seriously I might cage a few and make them pets.

I was very serious, Amy. Accept it as a compliment from an old geezer. :)

I am not mad Lis! I am grouchy today. My back, knees, ankle aches seem to just be getting worse as in nonstop and I am grouchy from it.
Been going thru this "I want my old life back'' thing. It ain't gonna happen and the last few days my little Miss think sunny thoughts button is broken. I'll get over it.

I am so sorry you are not feeling good.

i was just trying to make you, laugh

JJ, what's for dinner?

Basically this is it. I didn't do a sandwich though.
Salad as the side.

And this is all Lis fault that I got hungry for it.

Hot Beef Sandwiches Au Jus

1 beef rump roast (4-5 lbs. )
1 package dry onion soup mix (1 oz. )
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
2 cans condensed beef broth (10. 5 oz. ea. )
1 can beer (12 oz. )
2 cloves garlic
16 onion buns

Place beef roast in 3 1/2 to 4-quart slow cooker. In medium bowl, combine all remaining ingredients except buns; mix well. Pour over roast.

Cover; cook on low setting for 8-10 hours.

Slice or shred beef. Serve in buns. If desired, skim fat from juices. Serve sandwiches with individual portions of meat juices for dipping.
