Sending good thoughts to JoJo & mom.

You can always tell when "be glad you have a job" mentality kicks in by looking at union power. First there were no unions and things like what Jerry described. Then, after bloody battles, unions came to be and employees got protection. Bit by bit the unions became more powerful until they had the ability to destroy a company or an industry which, on occasion, they did. So new companies got smart and gave their employees a good deal as long as they didn't unionize. This led to fewer union employees and unions lost a lot of power until we reached the present day when Wisconsin is outlawing unions for government employees and Tennessee is arresting people who protest when their senate considers a similar bill.

It's a pendulum. I just wish it would spend a little longer in the rational zone before going haywire in one direction or the other.

As far as welfare cheats go, the system needs improvement but I'd rather pay for the cheats until those loopholes get closed than send any more children to bed hungry.
