About 20 years ago, I was visiting my sister and there was some sort of gathering at one of her college friends' house. Five couples, kids and me. These are accomplished women. Two physicians, an conservator at a museum, a director of personnel at a major medical center and a TV producer. After the meal, the guys did help clean up then they disappeared into the den to watch sports. The kids wandered off with them or into another part of the house to play. And the women hung out in the kitchen, talking about child rearing. Not even cute stories about the kids and the family -- we're talking Dr. Spock stuff.
