Friend of my parents used to have roving hands when he kissed and hugged you. He wasn't a pedophile -- I was in my 20s the first time he did it to me. My first reaction was to shove him away but I thought "friend of parents" so I extricated myself and asked my Mom. Turned out that all the women in their crowd just avoided being in arm's reach of him, except one woman who was apparently less embarrassed to speak up. She'd just tell him to cut it out.
