Not sure if it was a male or female - just assuming the colors in birds - usually male is more colorful but I don't know if that holds for peacocks. At any rate - it likely had the sense that it was a male that began feeding it and did an A=A with me. ;) It was never nasty with me - when I got to close it would zip away.... I've had geese attack though... trying to chase them out of the pond area....

The females don't have to put on a display to attract a mate. The males do. (Unlike most parrot species which can only be differentiated by dna tests.)

Brava! In nature, often the female is the bigger one and the male put on makeup. :laugh:

I think it's a 2 way street to work right...one way doesn't work so well.
