Short version: jj's friend got scammed out of all her savings by someone met on the net.
Well if all have wondered why I haven't been around a lot some days this week, here's why and why you should be careful!!
I got a friend who was just taken in my a scam.
She meet a guy on the internet and they became friends. He even came to see her a couple of times. Then he got her to put a check of his in her bank acct for over night keeping. The next day he got her to write a check to him. Then, of course, by the time his bounced he was long gone and no where to be found.
I thought she knew better and it involved thousands of dollars. By the time she covered the check she wrote him (he had left her that day and cashed it at her bank), she had something like $1.29 left to live on until her next SS check, which, thankfully, is not that far away.
The worst thing is it totally wiped out her saving!!!
Anyway me and a few other friends have been doing the moral support thing and getting her enough of the basic food items in so she can make it until the money hits.

She is really depressed over the whole idea. Since she's had so many health issues over the past year, I hope this doesn't put her down for the count.
