Raspberries are the best berry. Every once in a while I get strawberries from a farmers' market and I remember why I used to like them. The ones you buy in the supermarket have been hybridized to get ones that ship well and don't spoil. The only thing they lost was the taste. (It's like commercial vs. heirloom tomatoes.)

I have bought strawberries before that didn't have any flavor at all

That applies to all "4" series conventional produce. Those that start with 8 are organic, 9's are GMO! I saw on the Net, which could be wrong.

Yes, the chain produce is pretty tasteless. Nothing like small farm stuff, we have some co-ops in town that come from small, organic farms. I might try that this coming spring.
