I know, I used to be an every night participant here.... Then it got out of hand and I took a (RW) break.... Now work is outta hand, and catching up can be a ! Its all good in the big scheme of things.

You do realize you DON'T have to read EVERY post, don't you?

I've been meaning to ask you since my foray back into the December J0kers abyss this morning.... What kind of software did you write JaG??

I did some Cobol and C, but main on the PC, database stuff, from dBase III, Paradox to SQL Server, but actually built a career out of MS Access. Toys, I know.

I was Business/MIS major and wrote business apps.

This thread is my home. I read everything and remember about 5%. Other threads I let go sometimes.

I did some Cobol and C, but main on the PC, database stuff, from dBase III, Paradox to SQL Server, but actually built a career out of MS Access. Toys, I know.

Early on I did a lot with dBase III/IV. I did the database for the closure of Wallace AS in the PI, and later worked on the Clark database. These were for tracking all of the "assets" we gifted the Filipinos when we pulled out of there after Pinatubo. In more recent years, used Python and C++. I think Python is my favorite. The code just Looks good and is readable. I don't code anymore.

Python is a forced structure OO scripting language. Loops and conditionals require indents. It's hard to write ugly code. It plays well with web servers. I had a lot of fun with it.

I never got into web programming. If I ever wanted to make money again, I should.
