I was doing some remote work, installing some software on a server in Arkansas last night. I rebooted the server before I got started and it didn't come back up. It died. I did nothing wrong but I was the last one on the mouse. Now it looks like the IT guy that manages it is going to be fired.... Kinda queasy here.

They'd fire a guy for hardware failure? Fumb ducks.

I spent the day at Dad's clearing out more stuff. Furniture moves Friday. He moves Monday.
Scored a bunch of dental equipment -- a little wire cutter, a couple of pull & twist things and a little forceps and several great needle-nose mini-pliers and tweezers. He kept asking why I would want those. How do you explain positioning stainless steel donuts to someone who doesn't vape?

Unfortunately, in the IT world, we often find ourselves working for managers that have no clue about how things really work. If it's broke and you cant explain why, then its a big black eye. In this case, the admin is here in ABQ, and the broken server is in Arkansas. The help in Arkansas is no help at all.
