Yup, in Walmart and other drugstores just ask the pharmacist where to find the Glycerin. It is primarily used as a skin moisturizer (you can tell them that's what you want it for) and just make sure that it has on the label USP making it the right grade.

I have found and also used Wilton brand found in cake decorating supply stores, it label does not have the USP on it, but I figure if it's good enough to eat, then it's good enough for me. Wilton is sold as a frosting ingredient.

Actually I would not use the Wilton brand only because what I read on here (don't ask where, I have read sooo many of these threads) some pharmacist said it must say USP on it and that just because it says food grade does not make it safe to inhale, according to him there are totally different guidelines and pharmacy requires USP and has more strict safety guidelines. He was very informative, I wish I knew how to bookmark some of these threads.

Good info. I have only used the Wiltons I think twice and found that the Humco USP grade I got a WalMart is my favorite and have used that ever since. I believe what you are saying and therefore I'm going to toss the Wilton brand out. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Thanks.

Wal-mart has it in the pharmacy section, the bottle says glycerin skin protectant on it made by Humco, this is vegetable glycerin aka VG, make sure it says USP, I have done tons of research on it and this is the stuff most are talking about.

Hello, fellow Washingtonian:) I'm just over in the South Hill area and I saw VG by the pharmacy in the Walmart off of Meridian and 168th. It's, I think 8 oz. for $2 something.
