I'm so frustrated right now.... here's the set up:

K100 mod
AGA-T2 tank
Kevlar wick
32g wire.

I've tried 28g wire and it bottoms out my batteries. No go.

I build a single wick coil with a 2/3 wrap. It works great for about a day and then the loop starts frying. Within another day its leeching burnt gross juice into the tank. Within another day the loop is black as it can get and so is the juice.

WHAT is going on? I'm at my wits end and sick of building a new coil every other day.

Please help!!

Is this a case of:

I have this stuff, but no clue what I'm doing?

When ever I get into something new I'll spend hours researching, watching Videos and learning everything I can about what I' am trying to accomplish as well as what can cause unwanted results.

Right off, I see a problem if you cannot get 28ga to work without trashing batteries. 28ga is very common and works great for building coils.

Another mistake is just building to (x) wraps without knowing what you are actually accomplishing. Knowing your Ohms is critical for a successful build.
Never used Kevlar as a wick, so no Idea what its limits may be.

I've been rebuilding my vivi novas for about a month now and I encountered a similar problem but I use cotton wicking. It only happened when I wrapped my coils too tightly, it seemed to cut off my juice flow. I never really go a dry hit because the sides of my coil stayed moist enough, but the center was completely dry and after only a day or two I was getting nasty stuff flowing back into my tank turning crystal clear juice a dark maple syrup color, and when I opened it up and used a needle to touch the coils my wick would crumble.

Hope this helps.

Uhm. No this is not a case of "I have this set up and have no idea" I'm a little offended by that. Just cuz on the newbee forum?

I've been using this set up for a while and just suddenly had this issue start.

I'll go ahead and switch to a different wick and see what happens. Thank you everyone.

PS. I tried 28g again. Still no dice. Not sure what THAT issue is.

first stop using kevlar, very toxic once burning.
coil will get gunked up over time anyways.
almost all wicks in a geni will leach burned juice back into the tank coloring it.
2/3 wraps is a little odd i think i would go for 4 or 5 myself.
around 1.3 ohms or less is fine on a mech.

just random thoughts........................

What batteries are you using, are they high drain? What's their amp rating? It's possible that a 2/3 wrap is drawing too much power from your particular batteries. You never told us what resistance your build was at. 2/3 wrap of 28g gives us a ballpark but isn't exact like your meter's reading.
