Which atomizer is best?

In working my way through the e-cig lore it has dawned on me that from the point of view of the vaping experience the most important element is the vaporizer. [The batteries are long lasting or short but while they are working they all pretty much deliver the same voltage (except for the mods but that's not where this newbie question wants to go.) The carts are big or small but they have to be refilled or replaced]

i want to know the pros and cons of various vaporizers in order of importance to me.
1.) vapor and taste production ( i assume these are linked but maybe not.)
2.) longevity
3.) ease of connection with reliable and standard batter options (510 preferred)
3.) low maintenance
4.) price

for perspective i only have experience with the 306a and maybe a blu that fits the same threads and an oddball clean cig that's maybe a 401.

Sounds like your going to be spending some cash like the rest of us all to find out because the only way is to buy them and vape vape vape to get the real deal..!!

its a combination of atomizer, liquid and user likes/dislikes.
there is no one atomizer which outperforms all others, because it is subjective with each user. vapor production is also linked to liquid makeup and quality. they all connect just as easily, provided you have the right batt connector/adapter. maintenance/longevity is about the same on all of them as well. better maintained, longer life.

some liquids are awesome on my 510, others are better on a 901 or 801.

for me, the 'best' atomizer is the 510 across the board, but that's just one vapers opinion. having said that, i use 808d1s more than the 510 for simplicity, liquid capacity and ease of flavor changes.

THE Joker is correct, and like I said you have to spend some $$$ to play in this game, not to be smart but I have tried just about everything on the market and what I may like, love or hate, my best vaping buddy may feel different, taste is subjective on the flavors and the equiptment is all different. Just start vaping and you will see what the Joker and I are saying to be true..!!!!

here is my best hint, I love a 510 on a certain Batt with a certain fluid and bump on the 801 and 901 and im not done there,

ok I have used the kr8 and GreenCig cartomizers, the 901, 801/302/112 attys, 510 and the 306 atties.... haven't tried the m401 yet.... BUT the best by far when it comes to smooth/flavor/ TH and vapor ( with the right juice that is) the 306 is the winner in my book


I tend to lean more on the 510 for the most part... but the 306 exposed atty doesn't get as hot and has the same threading as the 510 SOOO you can use exactly the same device with NO adaptor what so ever and try both out.... the more popular 510 or the better 306

Of course my mood changes at times and I love the penstyle atties at hi voltage as well
and I love cartomizers when I just want to be out right lazy

i am getting the sense that the vaporization point for the various mixes varies and the temperature or holding capacity of the vaporizers also varies. I'm into this 4 weeks now and basically like the first poster said i have to spend some cash and find something i can live with (or avoid die-ing from) my second round of atomizers and juice--from rockymountain are a bit less satisfying than my first from vaporden--even thou essentially the same thing from a simple minded view. but it's a moving target.

i tried an analog or two ( or three) (newport 100s my ex.) this weekend to try and recalibrate but i think that was an error and breaking free from a rememebered baselin will be better in the long run. do folks think that their "tastes" also changed as you went through it?

i get the idea bit.

but not sure which variable i should tinker with--i bought 5 flavors of juice from rockymountain but none of them tasted as good as the genric menthol i got with my starter kit--but by then i was also using a new vaporizer. It has 4 vent holes instead of 2 even though the same threads--and i have no idea if its an "authentic" joye a not so good knock off or just the same.

does going with a "brand" help here or is it better to find a supplier

510s do well with strong flavors, coffee tobaccos, anything from TV (lol) and 901s with less strong ones (fruits n stuff). I should add that its because 510s run hot and 901 a lot cooler. Not sure about the cartomizers - I dont use those..yet..lol
I love my 510 - the only downside for me (and YMMV of course) is the pee-poor battery life which I remedy witha PT (I work from home now anyways so its practical) or a PCC for travelling. You can of course buy Mega battery for 510 (slightly longer life but not all day if you vape a lot) or a mod like the chuck or bartleby that will last all day and then some.
I cant price check all the models for you - but I can tell you I got my 510 kit from cignot.com and it cost $35 and included 2 510 attys, 2 batts, 5 cart pack of marlb high juice (which I liked but it lasted no time at all lol), and a charger. I also bought my PT from them in the same order, and a few little juice bottles, which bumped the price up enough for free shipping
Their cheapo bog standard juice isn't that wonderful (I think its stock dekang, the RY4 was nice though) but they DO stock the sublime BASIC juices which I love and the eCoPure range which others love.
You can pay a lot more for kits, I think this ones a good starter if you want a 510.

Vapor is a result of the combination of the voltage of the battery (not the stated voltage but the working voltage). A 510 oem batt can put out 3.0-3.2v. A Tornado/eGo a bit more. A 14500 batt in mods will get you 3.7+Volts. And you have 5, 6, 7.2V mods.

Combine that with the ohm rating of the atomizers and you'll get variied levels of vaporization.

The regular Joye 510 atty has a lower ohm rating and runs warmer than any other atty and will hence produce more vapor given that the voltage is constant.

Some flavors are enhanced by heat, some flavors are diminished by it. Stronger flavors usually respond favorably. Lighter flavors not so good. Strong flavors don't taste the same on a 901 as they do on a 510 and fruit/berry flavors do better on an 801 or 901 than on the 510, imho, and this is a fairly common experience. ymmv, of course.

2.) longevity

As far as long between chargers the mAh rating is a good measure and even though the ratings may be exaggerated, they are consistent in their exaggeration - I figure 100mAh = about 1 hour. So a 900mAh batt can last 9 hours, ymmv....

If you mean battery life, that's in the number of charges that a batt will take and that is usually in the specs. Don't have a chart to show you, sorry.

3.) ease of connection with reliable and standard batter options (510 preferred)

Never had a problem with the 510. There are adapters for almost all attys now. Some cartomizers don't work with some cartomizer type batteries but forget exactly which models - green cig or green smoke... I think green smoke is the one that isn't compatible with others.

3.) low maintenance

I find using the 3.7V at peak voltage with mods tends to self clean attys. The less cleaning the better. I didn't used to think that, but I only clean now if there is a performance drop.

4.) price

The Joye 510 starter kit a cignot is one of the best deals out there. 2 full ecigs (not the case with all 'starter kits' and a regular wall charger - again, sometimes you only get a usb charger), charger, cartridges and the choice of colors in LED and batt type - get the manual type Although the Joye 510 auto is one of the better ones - no timeouts or cutoffs.

If you get that the best price to a 3.7peak volt mod is to make one yourself - nicostick or get a Bartleby.

Not ready for that but want more battery life - Tornado/eGo.

Want to try cartomizers? V4L or get an adapter for the 510 to run cartomizers.

Like the lighter flavors -berries/fruits/vanilla/candy flavors - get 901 or 801 - 801 has a huge cartridge. Try a Joye Stick V3....

i'm trying to figure out how to try the atomizers and carts and juices without spending hundreds.

my 510 manual mega battery works fine (4 hours or so and i can usually charge at some point in the day) I can buy em local pretty cheap if it starts to fade so i have the electricity part solved. (the first couple batteries i bought barley even last my commute and i live close to work)

the idea i got from another thread was buy some cheap little adapters and then start picking up various disposables (attys and carts) without replacing the chargers and batteries

now i'm trying to figure out how to build the collection without buying starter kit after starter kit ( (i bought two and then wised up and bought atomizers and batteries that fit one another)

this business about the temperature and the flavors explains a lot. the longevity i'm wondering about is the atomizer failure rate.

My initial atomizer ran great for about 2 weeks and then lost steam. I haven't tried cleaning it cuz i don't have any mouthwash at hand etc. anyway i sprang for a couple new atomizers same threads but different vent holes.

meanwhile ran out of fresh carts and went to refill and dripping so i can't tell if the weaker jolt is from the lack of a "real" cartridge.

i like the idea if getting an adapter so i can try some of the other carts--the style i have is a bit on the messy side.

is there such a thing as a cart where you dont have to pull it off to top off or refill. some sort of little hatch maybe that slides back and you drip some juice in and keep on going?
